Did you know a group of unicorns is called a blessing? To bring a little magic to your shower or bath, create your own blessing of rainbow-hued unicorns using lots of color and a little sparkle. Because this project involves layers, small details and dispersing glitter, it’s a great project for those who want to test (or improve) their melt and pour soap skills.
What You’ll Need:
Shimmer Super Pearly White Color Block
Hello Sweet Thang Fragrance Oil

ONE: Melt 1 ounce of White Melt and Pour Base and a small shaving of the Perfect Red Color Block in the microwave on 5 second bursts. When working with very small amounts of melt and pour, it can burn easily, so be careful and take your time! If necessary, add more color block depending on your desired color. What you see is what you get for the color. You can always work with clear soap instead of white if you want the colors even brighter.
TWO: Using an Injector Tool, place the red soap into the top piece of mane in all four cavities. Spray with isopropyl alcohol to disperse bubbles. Immediately wash the injector with super hot water so it does not clog. Parental Note: If you’re doing with this smaller children, keep them far far away from the hot water. If it is warm enough to melt soap, it is warm enough to burn skin. Because the details of this project are small, you will have extra soap from each color of the mane. If you’d like, pour the remaining soap into a spare container instead of throwing it away! Set aside at least one container of soap in order to add Liquid Block Oxide for the eyes later.
THREE: Repeat the above steps for all colors of the mane, using the Yellow Oxide Color Block, Chrome Green Oxide Color Block, Ultramarine Blue Color Block, and Ultramarine Violet Color Block melted into 1 oz. of White Melt and Pour Base for each color. Again, what you see is what you get with the color. Spray with alcohol and wash the Injector Tool with hot water after each color.
FOUR: Using the Clean Up Tool, clean up any soap that may have dripped out of the individual areas in the mane.
FIVE: Once the mane is done, it’s time to color the horn! Melt down 1 ounce of White Melt and Pour Soap Base along with Shimmer Sparkle Color Block in the microwave using 5 second bursts. Use the Injector Tool to carefully fill in the horns. Spray with alcohol, and clean the Injector Tool.
SIX: Because the eye cavity is so small, add the Liquid Black Oxide to a container of previously melted soap. In this case, we used some leftover blue soap since it was the darkest color. Re-melt the soap in the microwave on 5 second bursts, and use the Injector Tool to carefully fill in the eye with black soap. Spray with alcohol and clean the Injector Tool.
SEVEN: Once the mane, horn and eyes have hardened, melt 7 ounces of White Melt and Pour Base along with pieces of the Shimmer Super Pearly White Color Block in the microwave on 10-15 second bursts.
EIGHT: Add 1/4 tsp. of Fine Iridescent Glitter to the melted soap, and stir to combine. Add 3 mL of the Hello Sweet Thang Fragrance Oil, and 3mL of the Rise and Shine Fragrance Oil. Stir to thoroughly combine.
NINE: Once the soap has dropped to 125 degrees, spray the unicorn with alcohol, and pour until each cavity is filled. Be careful not to pour the soap too hot, otherwise it could melt the mane, horn and eye layers.
TEN: Spray the top with isopropyl alcohol to disperse any bubbles. Let harden in the mold for 2 – 3 hours and then remove. Enjoy!
Now, may all your blessings come true. =)

Hi Monica!
I’m glad you enjoyed this tutorial :). While it’s a rather time consuming project, I think the end result is definitely worth it!

DO NOT LET MY 6-YEAR-OLD SEE THESE! Unicorns! Sparkle! Rainbow colors! All that’s missing is Anna and Elsa. Seriously.
I’ll probably end up buying the kit.
Sigh.

Hi Lesli!
Haha, oh how funny! I know I would have been all about this soap at that age too. It’s a really fun soap to make, especially because you can personalize it so many ways with different colors 🙂
