Patti has done another incredible batch of soap and I wanted to share her comments about soaping up with some of our new micas. The batch below was made with White Pearl Mica, Green Chrome Oxide and Emerald Mica. The Emerald Mica and Green Chrome acted so similarly that she decided to do another batch.
This time it was pretty clear which was which – the Emerald Mica went a gorgeous light green and the Copper Penny Mica is a glamorous shade of copper and sparkles.
The Emerald Green starts out a lot more green when you first put it into the soap but then slowly turns into a beautiful pastel green. It is a lovely color and would work well with lots of springtime fragrances.
Patti also made this exotic looking bar with our Luster Black Mica, Sparkle Gold Mica and (sadly discontinued) Blue Pearl Mica. Though the fragrance she used will discolor, she’s thrilled about the discoloration because the colors will ‘pop’ even more with the discoloration. The contrast will highlight the micas even more.
I have some gold mica and pearl white mica, good to see how they turned out. I just love the look, exactly what I am going for. Fingers crossed it turns out as well as yours.
Keep up the great work over there at Brambleberry. Luv your products

Cassandra, The Soap Artist Patti says:
"my batches are usually 3 lbs. and i usually use about a cup of raw soap for a swirl.
sometimes i do test batches that are a only a lb and of course the soap taken out for the swirl is a little less – about 3/4 cup or so.
when i go to mix my mica with some of the melted oil for the batch, i take a big spoonful(T) and mix it in a pyrex cup and put it aside.
after i reach trace, i pour the raw soap into the measuring cup until it reaches 1 cup and mix that and then slowly pour it back into the soap pot and do my swirl.
LOL…oh geeze though….don't ditch your oxides! pair them up with the micas! you'll get some great combinations!"
I hope this helps you get these fabulous colors in your own soap!
These are beautiful!!
How do you get your micas to stay so shimmery in CP soap?
OHH Anne-Marie, 🙁 I love these soaps and then noticed that they are CP, I am poopy when it comes to CP or HP. But I did follow the tutorial on the MP soap that came out like these. I hope that maybe, one day (fingers crossed), something like this will be on soapqueen tv. I love your products, I just learn more by watching than reading. I wish you plenty of success for the New Year, and you an inspiration to all. God Bless to you, your family and wonderful staff. And thank you for helping when we all have questions!

Danica,
I was so sad when the Blue Pearl was discontinued by the vendor. Try as I might, I can't find a close and perfect match but eventually, I'm sure one will turn up =)
No more blue pearl??? Where the heck have I been? Sad to see it go. Have a happy new year!!
Debbie, No worries – it's the Blue Pearl that is gone. Sparkle gold is here and we love love love it (just like you) =)
Hi Kelly – They are Cold Process which is always a bit more tricky than MP to get the colors to remain stable. =)
Those are truly beautiful!
I am with luvsoap; the green one does look translucent.
Is it MP?
These are inspiring energizing and very lovely.
So very beautiful! Sure wish my swirl soap would look like those. Mine are not bad but sure are not as great as Patti's! So now I have a new goal for the year (grin) Happy New Year!
Just used the copper penny mica in a soap. Beautiful color in a white to beige soap. I really would like to try the green. I'm curious, in the first picture of the green soap, did Patti use M&P? It looks translucent…
Hi, Soap Queen! I am a first-time soap maker and have done a lot of research. Your videos over on YouTube are amazingly helpful! Thanks so much and I hope you have a happy New Year!
These are all so beautiful!
VERY sad to hear that sparkle gold mica is no more. It's a true favorite! Keep us posted if it makes a reappearance. 🙂
Beautiful!
oh nice! I am so glad I picked the copper penny one in my last order 🙂
great to see it in action before I try it myself….hmmm now what scent to use with it!?!?!?
