The other weekend, Team Bramble Berry headed out to the local bowling alley to participate in an extra special event. Every year, Big Brothers, Big Sisters has a nation-wide fundraising event called Bowl for Kid’s Sake, and the Bramble Bowlers jumped at the chance to help out.
From BBBS website: “Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Washington is the largest mentoring organization in Northwest Washington, serving over 400 children annually in Whatcom and Skagit counties.”
Unfortunately, Jamisen’s nap went late and I wasn’t able to make it. I had the perfect little outfit picked out for him and everything, darn it! But aside from missing an opportunity to hang out with my team and show off Jamisen’s outfit, I didn’t have a thing to worry about. Bramble Berry’s Bramble Bowlers rocked it frame to frame!

OK, so maybe we aren’t the best bowlers. But what the team was lacking in score they made up for in other areas. Like being the winners of the Most Enthusiastic Team award! It’s awarded to the loudest, most hyped-up team (so proud!) and the grand prize? A gift certificate to a local pizza joint which the Bramble Bowlers used to treat the everyone on staff to a super fun lunch.
The Cracker Jacks were a raffle prize – yum!
They’re such goofballs!
Here’s the official team photo, taken by the BBBS-NW’s photographer:
Kristen (on left) acted as our BB paparazzi and took all the photos so I could let little man finish his nap on his own time. The team brought home a great plaque for our wall too.
In the end, it doesn’t matter who gets the best score, or who goes home with the most goodies. It’s about fostering a sense of community and teamwork while supporting a great cause. Way to go, Bramble Bowlers!
