Today is the day we find out the NEW floral fragrances for Spring 2011. Me and my fabulous team get to read the surveys filled out by our hard working/testing S.O.A.P. team. Thank you for all of your hard work ladies! Click on the links below to check out all of their fabulous blogs. I love my job!
Bramble Bump Report
With just 20 or so days to go until we meet our little Bramble Bump, he is growing like a champ. Our last ultrasound showed him at 5 pounds, 6 ounces and that was 10 days ago! He should be over 6 pounds now. My waist is currently 41″ around and I’ve gained 26 pounds for the pregnancy (thus far – we still have a little bit to go!).

ELF Pizza Party: An Educational Field Trip
The BB crew took an educational field trip to our “brother” company, ELF Industrial, to learn the ropes, see some new molds and bond over some ‘za (what we used to call pizza in the 80’s). My younger brother, Erik, is the manager of the company and was a gem to take the afternoon to show us the ins and outs of the company. Erik also runs Bramble Berry’s retail store, Otion the Soap Bar and The Soap King blog. I am especially thankful to have Erik on board running these two ventures with the little Bramble Bump about to make his appearance any day now (April 23 is the due date!).
Yummy pizza from Pizza Pipeline in Bellingham. Have you ever had Taco Pizza? We have and it’s heaven!

Fair Ivy Round Up (thus far)
The Fair Ivy contest entries are starting to roll in like wild fire. It’s so fun seeing all of the amazing soaping techniques and products. There are so many creative entries that we might have to pick 10 projects to send on to Lucy at Fair Ivy. You guys are making this hard on us! We’ve received out of this world melt and pour robot soaps, brilliantly swirled cold process soaps, fruity sugar scrubs, moisturizing salves and fun bath bombs.
Here’s just a handful of what we’ve received!

Bramble Berry’s New Products
Foaming Bath Whip: Foaming Bath Whip is such a wonderfully versatile product. Make a shaving soap, frosting for your bath bombs, a body meringue or a really easy scrub, all with this one amazing base. See the Soap Queen blog for a great recipe on how to make a cinnamon sugar scrub.
Sheer Freesia Fragrance: A fresh, sheer delight with a beautiful, delicate floral bouquet. Green fresh top notes mingle with blueberry, bergamot, lemon and jasmine. A subtle union of freesia, lilac and perfect rose greet warm woody base notes of amber musk, violet, powder and vanilla.
Linden Blossom Fragrance: Linden Blossom is a difficult floral to pin down. More musky than your average flower, it still wants to dissipate in the lye-heavy environment of Cold Process soap. After much testing, we do have a fantastic Linden Blossom for you to try. It is elegant, sophisticated and fresh while remaining young and contemporary, thanks to the addition of Mandarin and Lemon for top notes. This isn’t your Grandma’s floral!
Bramble Bump Baby Shower
Me with the host, Jody Bergsma and good friend Erin Baker.
First Baby Shower
FSE Baby Shower |
In December, when Chris’s company, FSE, found out I was pregnant (he announced it first thing in his annual “Message to the Company”), two of the engineers’ wives immediately offered to throw me a baby shower. It was so kind of them to organize a couple’s shower for me, Chris and baby Renoud. I kept trying to help but they wouldn’t let me. All we did was show up and enjoy our special day; there was lots of laughing, lots of advice and lots of anticipation.
