I always use moisturizer in the morning and at night. But every now and then, my skin still feels a little dry throughout the day. If your skin is in need of a pick-me-up, this Cucumber and Lavender Face Spritzer is great for quick hydration. It’s made with a combination of aloe vera liquid, cucumber essential water, lavender essential water and glycerin. Essential waters are purified water infused with essential oil. They have a mild scent and feel great on the skin. Feel free to swap out any of the essential waters in this recipe for another if you prefer.
Simply spritz the mixture onto your skin any time, and allow it to dry. This spray feels refreshing during the hot months, and relieves dry winter skin. I actually made this spray in July and used it throughout the summer after being out in the sun all day. I like to carry it in my purse for little pick-me-ups.

Hye, i want to ask..
If i buy all the ingredient in my country, then did i still need to add preservative?? Cause i want to buy in soapqueen but the postage cost its to expensive..
Kelsey says
If the ingredients you use have a preservative, you don’t need to add an extra one. If not, we recommend adding a preservative at 1% of the total weight of the recipe. Learn more here: http://www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/lotion/talk-it-out-tuesday-preservatives/

Hello! I was wondering if there would be an effect if my ingredients have different expiration dates? Let’s say if I use 1 oz. of solution A (expires 2018) and 3 oz. of solution B (expires 2019), will solution B extent the life of solution A since I used more of it? Or should I follow the earlier date? Thanks so much!
Kelsey says
You’ll want to follow the earlier date! The shelf life is determined by the shortest shelf life of your ingredients. So, your product will last until 2018. 🙂

What can i substitute for the Aloe liquid? I am highly highly allergic?
Kelsey says
You can use rose water instead! You can also use distilled water. If you use distilled water, you would need a preservative to prevent mold and bacteria. Optiphen ND at .5% would work well. 🙂

The label template link goes to a bath spa label, and when I search “facial spritzer label template” on Bramble Berry, nothing like the label shown comes up. Is there a label available?
Kelsey says
The bath spa label is the correct one! Once you download the file, it will give you several label templates. The Face Spritzer labels are on page 4. 🙂

I’m thinking of using this as the liquid for soaking the Brambleberry facial treatment masks. Do you think this will soak into the masks well? Can you recommend another recipe that might work better or be more beneficial to use with those masks?
Kelsey says
Before making a batch of masks, I would recommend trying one on your skin. We had several people test this spray in mask form and a few experienced some skin irritation when the mask was left on longer than 5 minutes. I would recommend testing it to see if you experience any irritation! 🙂

Sly says
There are 9 oz of ingredients…seems like you would need more than the three 2oz bottles in the tutorial.
Is there a mistake in the amounts of one or each ingredient or the number of bottles needed?
Thank you.
Sly
Kelsey says
That is correct! The glycerin in this recipe are fairly dense, so this recipe doesn’t fill as many bottles as recipes made without it. 🙂

Lily says
If I never put preservative in this formula, how long can it last? Or should I store in fridge?
Regards,
Lily
Kelsey says
Several ingredients in this recipe already have a preservative, so this facial spritz should last about a year. You can store it in the fridge if you like! Storing it in a cool, dry place will help it last longer. 🙂
