Hi –
We made this and used the 3 pc stacking lip pots from BB. We made one coral colored, the next light pink, then a darker Pink for the third. We used the Coconut flavor oil, it smells yummy!! If I can get it away from DD, will post a picture! Great recipe!

That sounds absolutely fabulous, can’t wait to see pictures! 🙂

any substitute for avocado oil? and will this melt easily??
Becky with Bramble Berry says
Because of the beeswax, this will not melt as easily as a lip balm that didn’t have it (beeswax) in it.
If you didn’t want to use Avocado Oil, I would try using Sunflower Oil or Sweet Almond Oil, both of which are fabulous in lip balms.

were can you gets swartberry flavorings fo
Anne-Marie says
We’re always on the look out for more lip balm flavorings. In fact, we have some that we’re testing right now.
Most food flavorings like extracts are water soluble so they won’t mix in with your oil based lip balms. However, the same theory would apply if you were to find an oil based food flavoring.
We also have a sweetener that can be added to any flavor oil for sweetness https://www.brambleberry.com/Lip-Smacking-Sweet-Flavor-Oil-P4679.aspx
Our flavoring oils will cover up the natural scent of the oils in your recipe. Generally the flavoring is all you can smell in my lip balm recipe.
I hope this helps and good luck with your lip balm recipe.

I was wondering about flavoring, Brumbleberry.com offers quit interesting ones but varity doesn’t seem to be enough
Would my lip balm still succeed if food flavoring oils were added?
Also, I read this somewhere
“The term “flavor oil” is a bit of a misnomer. Flavor oils are really lip-safe fragrances. They smell but do not taste. Flavor oils are used to scent your lips. Commercial products that seem to have a taste actually use a sweetener (commonly aspartame or other sugar substitute). The sweetener tricks your brain into thinking you are tasting the flavor when you are actually smelling it.”
Will this apply if food flavoring oils were added to my lip balm?
Can flavoring oils cover up smell of oils used in my lip balm such as olive oil, jojoba oil, castor oil etc.??
Sorry for my many questions, but i’m new in this and need all info I can get to start my lip balm project 🙂
Thank you

How much sweetener would be used if you wanted to flavor it? I am thinking of stevia in particular.
Anne-Marie says
I’d go with 1 mini scoop of stevia per 1 ounce of lip balm and remember to pour at a cooler temperature because you need to suspend the stevia in order to get it to really stick in the lip balm and not sink to the bottom =)
Anne-Marie says
A minimum of a year if not longer; all of the oils are incredibly long-life oils.

Anne-Marie, how long will this recipe stay good for? or will it go rancid quickly?
Anne-Marie says
Sometimes – 1. They always need to be food grade or FCC. At BrambleBerry.com, the food grade edible ones are marked that way.
2. Never use any citrus EO's. They can be photosensitizers and exacerbate the action of the sun and give your customers sunburned lips.
3. Mints and Cinnamons will tingle on the lips; use sparingly.

Can I use essential oils in my lip balms?
Anne-Marie says
Good catch – it's just a teaspoon.=) Whoops …
