To make the Microsoft Small Business Summit soap (or any soap using Water Soluble Paper), you will need the following:
White Melt and Pour Soap
Clear Melt and Pour Soap
Fragrance (non-yellowing)
Water Soluble Paper
Optional: Dropper & Glitter
Knife (to cut the soap)
Spritzer Bottle filled with Rubbing Alcohol
Pyrex (or heat safe container)
Spoon
Soap Mold (I like Milky Way Molds)
Water Soluble Paper is a super soluble paper that can be printed on with an inkjet printer or written on.
Step One: Design & Print your Project
Since Water Soluble Paper is $.60 per sheet, try to fit as many logos, photos or wording onto a full sheet of paper. Print a full sheet using an ink jet printer. With a fine mister of hairspray, finely mist the entire sheet. The hairspray helps to keep the color from bleeding once the paper is embedded in the soap.
Cut the logo, the photo or the wording out of the paper. Test to make sure the object easily fits inside of your chosen mold.

I have moved to the UK and I cant find water soluble paper anywhere!?! 🙁
can I use rice paper/wafer paper?

Rita, the MP *will* glue on and sandwich to the CP so the only question at this point is if the CP soap will cause the paper to dissolve or bleed. It’s a fun idea though. =)

Oh No on the Bleeding! I hope mine don’t! I didn’t even think about that. I just spritzed with the hair spray and gave it a second to dry then put them on. I’ll be watching them. Hopefuly they won’t bleed at all, but if they do, wait until after the 3rd!

Actually, I was thinking of M&P on top of the CP, as a cover for the paper, but since the water in CP would make it wet to pour on top of the paper, dunno. I also wondered about pasting a bit of M&P on top of a CP bar to hold the label in place and dipping CP top into clear M&P. I wonder if a sandwich of 2 clear with the CP would work and hold together?
Just thinking out loud.
Sorry I missed the demo on line.

Rita –
You probably *could* use the water soluble paper in CP but you wouldn’t be able to see it because it’s not a clear medium.

Anne-Marie, is there any way for the water soluble paper to work in CP because of all the water? Inquiring minds want to know.

I also want to say thanks! for the tutorial because I can’t quite figure out how to get the Summit’s live video of you demonstrating this. :}

Hey Anne-Marie, thanks for the perfect tutorial. I’ve also had this paper for a bit, but haven’t played with it. This project would be the perfect addition to the presentation I’m making to a B&B to do their amenities. Logo, WS Paper, M&P, Go!

Thank you for this tutorial – but I’m hoping you weren’t working on this Easter holiday! I bought this paper awhile ago, but have been too nervous to use it, now I think I can give it a shot! Hope your cute soaps are rec’d well! I like ’em! Happy Easter!
