Amy has been in Bramble Berry‘s warehouse team for almost a year. She started as a part-time night stocker and has since joined us as a full-time puller. We’re lucky to have her sunny disposition and easy laugh.
Amy is also a thoughtful daughter; check out the adorable foot scrub she made for her mom.
She said I could share her recipe in case you wanted to make something for your Mom or yourself:
few drops of Fuchsia true tone color
1.4 oz. Jojoba Oil
8 oz. Foaming Bath Whip
2 1/4 cups Sugar
.3 oz. Sweet Pea fragrance oil
The Foaming Bath Butter foams, the Sugar exfoliates and the jojoba oil helps to leave tootsies smooth and soft.
Enjoy!

I made this with the coconut oil cause it was the most accessible on hand..(I keep it in the cupboard where I was, the other oils are down below and I didn’t want to bend lol) I made the sugar scrub (winging my own recipie as I didn’t see this at the time) and it was really fluffy and decadent. It’s like a really thick whip cream. I had to try it.. .I washed 3 times… cause it felt so nice to use… I used a pumpkin scent and orange coloring and it’s gonna be part of my fall harvest collection. I gave some to my testers today and so far positive feedback! ๐

Could you use virgin coconut oil instead of jojoba oil?
Becky with Bramble Berry says
Hi Vanessa!
We’ve never tried it, but in theory using coconut oil would be a fun alternative to the jojoba oil. Just be aware that using the coconut oil will change the consistency of your scrub and it may harden up a bit due to the coconut oil. If you try it, you’ll have to let us know how it turns out for you! ๐

I received my whipped soap yesterday I was so excited to make my whipped sugar scrubs..I was really upset with myself cause i didn’t get the texture that i was looking for.. It was too loose and i was looking for that soft spongy testure.. Plese help, what do i do?
Becky with Bramble Berry says
Hi Lavon!
If a scrub has too many liquid oils in it, it can be a bit soft and spongy like you are describing. I’d be happy to help troubleshoot what was going with your sugar scrubs! Did you follow this recipe or did you use another one?

I have also been searching for a recipe for sugar scrub mousse bars. I can see from the web site of the store where I saw them that it is indeed made with your Foaming Bath Whip + sugar and Vitamin E. The question is – what makes it solid and spongy? Have you had any luck identifying a recipe for this?
Anne-Marie says
My guess is that it’s whipping it ahead of time – so whip, whip, whip and then add the sugar – the soft and spongy has to do with the amount of air whipped into the product in my experience.

This is one of my favorite recipes so far! So simple, and my friends and customers (and me!) love it. Thanks for sharing!!

This sounds great – can’t wait to try it. I’m new to soaping and have been trying to find a recipe for a sugar soap scrub like one I found in a bath shop. They call is a sugar scrub mousse bar. It’s solid enough to be cut into squares yet spongy to the touch. Do you have any similar recipes?
Anne-Marie says
Oh wow, that’s cool! I’ve never heard of that – I can’t wait to see that when I come across it. No, we don’t have a recipe for that yet but that would be a fun one to work on. =)
Anne-Marie says
I googled the name of the cool mousse scrub and I found some similar products using that name and it was our Foaming Bath Whip with scrubby additives (sugar):

I made this scrub this evening. It came out great. I colored 1/3 of it pink and left the rest white. I filled the container with both colors.
I used a peppermint fragrance.
Anne-Marie says
Yay – thanks for the great report. I hope you like using it as much as you enjoyed making it =)

I think this is just the recipe I am looking for…if I’m giving this as gifts, should I add a little preservative since the jars will be taken into the shower? Is it too thick to put into a squeeze bottle instead of a jar (to avoid the water contamination issue)?
I can’t wait to try it!
Anne-Marie says
You could put it into a super wide mouthed squeeze containers – super wide mouthed – and yes, you could add preservative (Phenonip at 1%) to be extra safe if you wanted to =)

I made this scrub substituting BB’s cucumber melon FO, using the 2 cups sugar and 1/4 cup crushed walnut shells from BB (instead of 2 1/4 cup sugar) and a few drops of green color to make it a nice light green. I made a big jar for myself and a few sample jars for friends, and it was a big hit! I just love the Foaming Bath Butter! The Amy’s Scrub recipe would be great for amyone who likes a scrub that leaves you feeling moisturized but not greasy!

Thank you for following up with this information. Will be giving this one a try.

Amy says that she whipped the foaming bath butter before adding the sugar & that the jojoba oil is lovely in the scrub. She thinks it adds to the feeling of moisture after showering.
Anne-Marie says
Good questions! I’ll ask Amy tomorrow. I’m betting she whipped the base and the jojoba oil is lovely in the scrub but I wouldn’t want to assume. =)

Thanks for bring back the foaming bath butter. I have been wanting to make a foaming scrub for the longest time. The recipe looks great. Question, is the jojoba oil too waxy for the scrub or light enough?
Brigette says
Thanks for the recipe. Looks great. I recently used the Foaming Bath Butter I got from BB a while back and it makes a great Shaving Cream Soap. I wanted to try it in a scrub and now I have the recipe. Question…. do you need to whip the bath butter first until it doubles in volume or just use it as is and mix the other ingredients in?
