wow! All are beautiful. I am really impressed with faerie lights soap. I was curious if these artists charge extra for the extra packaging. It would really get expensive to package that faerie soap that way plus extra shipping costs.

Here’s the faerie soap e-commerce shop:

Typically, if you’re selling soap and your packaging is awesome and over-the-top, you’ll charge accordingly for that.
For example, one of our customers makes 2.5 ounce soaps that normally would retail for around $3-$4 but she wraps them in such a way that they retail for $10. It’s just a matter of who and what clientele you’re going to serve. If you’re looking to sell at Barney’s NY, you can probably easily sell a $10 or $20 bar of soap, wrapped with all the expensive wrapping and ribbons in the world. But, if you’re selling at the corner market that only sells Dial soap, you might not be able to charge that type of pricing and you’ll want to wrap and charge accordingly.
Dawn says
Thanks. I do do that with some things at my craft shows. I make cupcake bath fizzies and if I deck it out in a plastic container with ribbons and a tag I charge a little more but will also have some that are just in a cello bag for less. It is nice to have the option for people who want to give it right as a gift or people who just want to tuck it into a basket and don’t need the fancy packaging. Good to know others upcharge for packaging as well.
I see from her site she the faerie soap isn’t actually packaged like that for sale it is just like that for the picture. I couldn’t imagine the extra charge for all of that.
Michelle Rhoades says
