Remember when I told you about our new warehouse last year? Here’s an update: It’s still in progress. Building the warehouse was the quickest part; now we have to get sprinklers for ALL of Bramble Berry’s original 13,000 square foot warehouse and we have many other equally important projects that need completed before we can move in. We’re bursting at the seams so it’s a little maddening to gaze into that big empty building (I know it doesn’t look like it, but that’s 2700 square feet of empty space with huge ceilings to allow for full pallet racking). But we will be moved in there soon (ish?).
Meanwhile, inside we are expanding into the offices in the front part of the building (that we used to rent out to another business). When I originally bought this building, I knew I wanted room for Bramble Berry to expand…and (thanks to you guys!) expanding we are!
Upstairs, we’re pulling down the ceiling and insulation so that the sprinklers can be installed. And look what we found? Miles and miles and miles of old telephone and data cables (anyone looking for extras?). It looks like a disaster right now but when it’s finished, we’ll be equipped to serve our customers better – which is the silver lining and the light at the end of the tunnel for me. Running this project and keeping boxes shipping, has been no easy feat (but rest assured, we like a challenge – bring on the orders!).
You will be able to! Make those goals, make that plan and start to execute with ruthless efficiency. You’ll be out of there sooner than you think =)
Good luck to you Ann-Marie…I wish I could afford to set up a work area outside of my kitchen. All of my work and supplies are tkaing over =-O
How lucky are you to have a wonderful new place to set up your business!
It has come a long way! It’s all finished and we just need to get the
approval of the city/fire department (once the sprinklers are all in). We
are soooooo full in our normal warehouse that we can hardly wait! =)
It’s looking great 🙂 When I was there the extension area was full of drums, so it’s come a long way already! I know how difficult it is shipping orders with all the disruption and everything squeezed up tight. Not long now, I’m sure and “Oh, what a feeling” when everything can expand into the space. 🙂
Otion will stay in the same place in our retail store. We’re using the entire new warehouse space for Bramble Berry =)))
The wait … this was supposed to be done in July and it’s definitely taking its sweet time but once we get in there, we know it will be amazing =)
We can’t wait for it – we’re renting multiple warehouses because of the timing involved. It is insanity … =)
I am sure it will all be great when it is done! Can’t wait to see the final pictures 🙂
Way to go! I hope to see you in June!
It’s coming along, and I know it will be worth the wait and the exasperation. You’re doing a fantastic job!
Will Otion stay in the same place or will they move into this new location as well?
