I’m currently writing a new book…but it’s not about soap! Instead, it focuses on something that comes naturally – talking to small business owners about business, life, values, goals, time management and more and making every day the “best day ever.” This book is written to inspire, teach and share. Written in 40 short chapters, each chapter has a business and personal takeaway exercise or story to illustrate an important business or life lesson. With chapters around living in the present while planning for the future to why small goals are better than huge goals, this book is written (!!) and is filled with practical, experienced-based advice.
The book is currently scheduled to be released in early 2017, and I can’t wait for you all to get your hands on it. But, I need your help! I’m having trouble choosing between two designs for the cover. Which cover do you prefer? Take the quick survey below to let me know. I really appreciate it; your feedback means a lot because really, I wrote this book with you in mind. I can’t wait for you to read it when it’s out… but first, I have to pick a cover. Eeek! =)
Sherry A. Harris says
Why don’t you do the “A” color and “B” font but make the font thinner so it is more readable. Also not so many fonts on “B”. Our rule in doing yearbooks was no more than three fonts to a page. Four is a bit much for a cover.
Clarice says
I Like “B” Too. ❤
nina says
Definitely A! Chic. Simple. Perfect! It doesn’t scream for attention yet it gains it.
I also like the idea of B with the color of A I read in some comments.
B is more fancy&playful if that is you’re looking for!

It’s such a tough choice, isn’t it?! =) I have the entire book written and it’s in editing now and I still haven’t made the final choice. Eeek! =)
Kathy says
Definitely B, invites you to pick up and read.
Deb High says
Cover B = Classy
Lana says
I like B it’s elegant and clean just like your soaps 🙂
Patrice says
Interesting responses. I really can’t find anything appealing about the weird font of B. The trend of wacky paintbrush fonts is going to be forever tied to this time period (the 20-teens) and to me it just screams “so trendy! so cutesy!.” Years from now, design and marketing folks will no doubt be chuckling about this silliness and all things “chalkboard.”
Christine says
I agree! We’ve seen this way too often. I actually rolled my eyes at cover b. I love the gold though!
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Oh you guys are not making it easy for me =) I really like the idea of having two covers – one for hardback and one for the paperback version – so the publisher is seeing if we can release both simultaneously …
Olivia says
I vote for B!
Leslie says
Cover A.
Cover B reads, to me, as “Rest Dog Even”
Which, if your book is about tired puppy, would be great.
This book isn’t, as you say, about crafting. It’s about business. The first cover looks clean, clear and is easy to read. Also, YOUR name is tied-together with the same color and font. Easy to see your name, too. It looks professional.
The B book cover looks like it has 4 different fonts. The gold title font is not clear or easy to read on first glance. It should grab your shopper’s attention but, not because they can’t read it clearly the first time!
I asked both my husband and son (he’s 18). Both said cover A grabbed their attention first. Dh is a retired biologist. Ds is planning on being a high school English teacher and I have degrees in Art History & Graphic Design. So, three pretty diverse backgrounds!
ALL of us like cover “A”
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Thank you! I lean towards the light green one too but the survey results were pretty clearly weighted towards the white cover. Interesting right? So now I’m seeing if we can do a hard cover and a soft cover at the same time. Then I could get the best of both design worlds =) Thank you for asking other people. That is awesome of you!

A
Oksana says
will there be a version of the book in Russian. I would like to have Your all books
Anne-Marie Faiola says
That’s a great question. I think it depends on US based sales before they do anything overseas. I’ll confirm that though. Thank you so much for being interested in reading it. =)
Annie says
B is crisp and clean with a playful font but my eye is drawn to A, one of my favorite colors!
Jennifer Hiatt says
A
Pat says
So, I submitted an answer and realized I think I put it in backwards lol. I can’t find my vote so maybe it didn’t submit the first time…. my answer is Cover B with the Color of A.
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Thank you! I’ll get that manually changed =) I appreciate the time you took to think about it and comment as well =)
Oksana says
will there be a version of the book in Russian. I would like to have Your all books
Wendy says
I think the same!
Pat says
Color of A…Font of B :))) Can’t wait to read it!
Carol says
“B” It conveys authority more than “A.”
Sherry Bradford says
“B”. It is contemporary and the font and color immediately emphasize what the book is about. Love it and can’t wait to read!!!
Anna Tang says
Well, I will chime in and say that I like the Aqua color with the font of book B as well.
Toni Jackson says
So yes…as many have already said….cover B with the color of A and here is why. I love the font that you used on B…..very pretty and eye catching. Also the page breaks that break up the page into sections that create an easier read. Maybe you could try cover B in both colors and then decide….but cover B for sure in font and layout. You pick the color.
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Thank you! I love your thoughts. It’s such a tough decision, isn’t it? Like, would the answer be the same for hardcover as well as softcover? Hm …. =) Thank you for caring and commenting.
MacKenzie says
I vote for B.
Sharon says
I like B. I do like the color of A better.
Tonya says
I like A. It’s clean, reminds me of books on the best seller’s list & snugging up with a good book!! I like how the crisp the font looks.
Elizabeth Ettema says
B font with background of robin’s egg blue.
erica porter says
cover A with the font from cover B
Debi says
I like “B” much better. It’s cleaner, simpler to read, and conveys the ‘look’ of a best day ever. Looking forward to it!!
Nicole says
I like B, but the “R” in “ever” is bothering me, lol. Maybe try a non-cursive R?
Gwendolyn says
“B” is so you! Even though everyone may not know you like we do, and both these books were sitting on the shelf of the bookstore next to each other, I would pick “B”.
Best wishes!
Gwendolyn
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Thank you! I totally am thinking about this from a shelf standpoint. Also, my publisher is Forbes and their readers tend to be more male than female so I’m also thinking about it from that demographic standpoint too. What will people look at when they’re browsing a book store versus what will they click “add to cart on” for all of the online sellers? So many things to try and take into account right? Thank you for commenting. I so appreciate it.
Linda says
I like the color of A and the font of B. Good luck!
Eva says
I agree with Natalie. I like the color of A ~ it is unique, and would stand out more on the bookshelf. However, I prefer the FONT on B, it has more of your cheerful personality! It would be neat also if the font for your name was a different shade, just to set it apart slightly?
I am excited on your new book ~ sounds fantastic!
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Thank you. It’s been a trip down memory lane to write and I hope that it provides value when it’s out. =)
Sly says
The one on the right is my favorite, but you need to go with your gut.
Fernie says
Cover B is much more elegant and seems more like you. I think it caught my eye quicker as I saw it 1 st also the cover is easier to read.
Diana Wentworth says
Hi, I love the blue book cover because of the color and it is so classy. Good luck!
Missy says
I like B but with the color of A
Dedre says
Hi Ann Marie. I rather love B just
T as it is. The message is clear yet lively (i.e. Not stuffy). I feel eager and excited to dive in and absorb your messages. Thanks in advance for your sharing
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Thank you! I’m excited and nervous about the book and am hopeful that it provides inspiration and empowerment for readers.
Dawn says
I like “B”. Looking forward to purchasing it!!
Mary Pasley says
I like B because it signifies simple and pure to me which is what your challenges are
Liz Sullivan says
I like them both but A I like better. I can’t wait to get this book. You have already been such an inspiration and help to me.
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Thank you; that makes me feel really good. =) I am so glad to have you in the Soap Queen and Bramble Berry family =)
Rhonda says
I prefer “B” but in the blue color of “A”.
Oksana says
Cover “B”
ROZA SOAP says
I LIKE *B*
Karin bjerring says
I choose A the blue..😊
Vanessa says
I chose B, because the font felt more “branded,” in that it matches your coffee mug. It also felt more personable and approachable, whereas A felt more like a “how-to” or textbook. A is Anne-Marie teaching a class, B is Anne-Marie chatting with me over coffee, sharing what she’s learned. 😊
Martina says
I love the way you described it. It’s exactly how I felt, just didn’t know what was it about it. You said it perfect. 🙂
Vanessa says
Thank you! 🙂
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Oh that’s a great description – chatting over coffee (personable, friendly, not intimidating) versus me talking at you (lecturing, student/teacher, a little more formal). I definitely want to be a partner on your creative journey – not be lecturing and authoritative/cold. Thank you for that.
Vanessa says
Thank you, Anne-Marie! I’m really looking forward to reading it, no matter what cover you decide on. 🙂
Tina Wagner says
B for sure! The font makes it sincere.
Natalie says
I like the color of A and the font of B but if I had to choose one as is I would choose A.
Nic says
I’d pick A. It looks more professional, and if I’m going to let someone tell me how to run a business, I’ll pick the one that appears more professional.
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Thank you Nic. I agree; A looks more ‘business-book’ than the other one which is more friendly and approachable. It’s a tough choice.
Rae S. says
“B” in blue!
Pooja says
Definitely B , I find it more approachable & non intimidating 🙂 more modern.
Peggy says
I like A. Both are nice. Its my preference to have normal font, for instance. Like the soft color of the pale blue.
Yes, can we pre order? also, I sent you a message via email. You should consider doing an online affordable course. teachable.com has a platform, for instance, where we can create courses. I’d definitely take the course if you made it.
But yes, can we order one of the books? How much would you expect it to be?
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Thank you Peggy! What a huge compliment you’ve paid me. I am so flattered that you are asking about pre-orders. Yes we will have pre-orders (along with downloads, goodies and more) but haven’t figured out the price yet (that is set with the publisher, Forbes) but the second we do, I will be shouting it from the rooftops. I am so excited to have this out (and also a little nervous…) and can’t wait to hear what you think when you’ve read it.
That’s a great suggestion re: the teachable.com platform. I’ll check it out!
Jessica says
Definitely Cover “B”, it really pops!
Martina says
I like B too. 🙂
Nikki says
“A” reminds me of those “get rich quick” kind of books.
“B” looks much more approachable and inviting; I probably wouldn’t imagine it as a sort of self-help book, which makes the content all the more of a pleasant surprise.
Anne-Marie Faiola says
Ewwww, ‘get rich quick’ kind of book is definitely not the look I’m going for. Thank you for that feedback. =)))
Jen says
I like A.
Emily Davis says
How exciting! Can we pre-order?
Karen B in the Inland Northwest says
I like “B”.
