In the meantime, here’s a fun clip that just aired on our local station (KVOS). We filmed the entire thing in one long take with no script. This is the outcome of our frantic late-night project designing from this post.

  1. I've become such a soap nerd and I'm going back and reading a lot of your older posts. I think you're absolutely amazing! You have been the biggest soapy inspiration for me. 🙂

  2. Hi JulieK –

I love that you worked in Corrections as well! I ended up making soap almost every night when I worked in Corrections. I just wasn’t well suited for the job. I interned at a police department in college though and really liked that. I am glad that you’ve found soapmaking as a creative outlet. I think it’s one of the best art forms out there! =)

  3. That was great! I worked for Corrections for 12 years which is how I got my start into making soy candles (stress relief). I now work for the local Police Department and have ventured out into CP soap. I can’t wait for the day I can do this full time! You are such an inspiration.

  4. I agree with the other ladies – you are totally a natural infront of the camera, and you’d make a fabulous motivational speaker. You can be another Meg Whitman! Your story is so inspirational.

  5. I loved your story AM and your adorable! Your so good at the instructional video, easy to follow. Thanks for sharing!

  6. That was great. I do better speaking without a script too. It just makes life more exciting! Oddly, I once was a CO too. I liked it okay, but felt like my every move was being watched.

  7. Fantastic! Anne-Marie your so talented. I enjoyed hearing how you got your start. I showed my 14 y/o daughter and she was amazed and inspired that your living out your dream. She isn’t into crafting soap & candles like me, but she is a wonderful budding photographer. Have you ever thought about or done public speaking in a high school? The kids could learn so much from you.

  8. wow you are a natural. you seem so at ease and your passion for the art shows through so much. great job.
