There have been kits on the Bramble Berry website for years. We wanted them to be an easy and fun introduction to the world of DIY bath and body products. However, we heard from customers that they could be better. We agreed and started planning a redesign.
The first step was bringing people in to test the kits and share their opinions on how they could be improved. From there, we started rewriting all the instructions, taking new photos, redesigning the instruction packets, and creating new videos. Our kits now come in carefully-packed boxes that include supplies and printed instructions with plenty of photos to guide you through the process. Find all our DIY kits here.
In this video, Bramble Berry Creative Director Amanda and Editorial Director Kelsey talk more about the redesign and how we’re always looking for ways to make the kits even better.

I have to agree that I miss the option of being able to remove items from the kit. I also have stopped buying the kits for this very reason. I’m still a huge fan and a customer of Brambleberry’s and will continue to be so, but one of the huge draws of being able to recommend you was the idea that you could remove things from the kits. That’s one of the things those that I know who buy from you raved about you for when first visiting the site. Its the one option you provided that no other soap supply seller offered. Please return to this practice!

I agree – for those of us who have the “basics”, ordering more of things we don’t need like alcohol, molds or some of the oils is not cost effective. Also, if we opt not to buy a kit, we still need the recipe. Forcing people to buy a kit which 1) has unwanted extra items and 2) is therefore more expensive (even with free shipping) than purchasing “a la carte” items just to get the recipe may backfire if Bramble Berry chooses to go that way. PLEASE put the recipes back on the Soap Queen site. Thank you!

I loved your kits when we were able to opt out of things we already had such as molds, scales etc. Now I stay clear of them because I end up with duplicates of things I don’t need. Please bring back that option.

Hi Rita, thanks for your feedback. While that option isn’t available on our http://www.brambleberry.com website, the recipes listed here on soap queen still allow for you to add and remove items from them as needed.

Agree. It would be nice to be able to add everything to the cart with a single click then remove unneeded things. I only need one blender, scale, and loaf mold…

While I don’t buy the kits from brambleberry, I make A LOT of soap and what I can’t buy locally to support local businesses (which is very little!) I buy from brambleberry because I get a great product at a great price and I trust all BB products. However, it’s so refreshing to see a great company (you know you’re great!) admit that you can always do better and strive to do better. You folks are awesome! Kelsey, you’ve responded to so many of my questions and comments here, it’s awesome to actually see you. I have a very large order on the BB wish list that I will be placing in the next few weeks.
