Everybody at the Bramble Berry office gets really excited when new products are brought in. We instantly begin brainstorming all the fun projects that can be made; new stuff is a great source of inspiration! Our team has been busy testing new fragrances and developing new soapy tools. If you’re looking for something new, we have you covered.
Fragrance oils might be my favorite type of new item. Before we decide to add a new fragrance, it goes through several stages of testing. All fragrances are eventually judged in fully cured cold process soap for scent and performance. Most fragrances don’t make the cut. But when they do, we know they are the best of the best. There are eight new fragrance oils that have been introduced in the past few months (seven in the past week!)
If you’re a fan of fruity and sweet, the new Fruity Fusion Fragrance Oil is a blend of peach, apple and pear, with notes of honey orange blossoms and vanilla. It’s absolutely amazing! If you’re a fan of grape soda, the new Sugared Grape Fragrance Oil will be your new favorite. It reminds me of grape flavored candy, and would be a great fragrance for kids. Both fragrances behave well in cold process, with very minimal discoloration.

If you prefer more sophisticated scents, two of the fragrances are based on popular fine fragrances. The Bramble Berry’s Alien Type Fragrance Oil is based on the popular Thierry Mugler perfume. It’s a rich fragrance with notes of jasmine, cedarwood, golden amber and cashmere accord. The Bramble Berry’s Black Opium Type Fragrance Oil is also inspired by a popular perfume by Yves Saint Laurent. It’s a little creamier and more vanilla smelling than the Bramble Berry’s Alien Type Fragrance Oil, with notes of rich coffee, orange blossom and patchouli. We also introduced Sultry Black Jasmine Fragrance Oil, which is warm and alluring. If you love jasmine scents, you’ll love this “darker” spin on it!

The new Rose Quartz Fragrance Oil may be my favorite of the bunch. It’s a bright take on a classic rose scent, with notes of orange zest and grapefruit. Light notes of sandalwood and jasmine rounds out the citrus scents. I love it so much that I’ve already created two projects with it, including this Rose Quartz Cold Process Soap. The Dogwood and Ginger Blossom Fragrance Oil is another interesting new floral scent. It features notes of spice, ginger and dogwood flowers. It also behaves wonderfully in cold process soap, which is always exciting for a floral fragrance oil!

Looking for something new, unique and a little adventurous? The Green Salsa Fragrance Oil is going to be right up your alley! This fragrance has strong notes of jalapeño pepper, with light notes of bergamot, ginger and sea salt. It’s not for the faint of heart, but it’s totally fun and different. Personally, I like to use it as a blending fragrance. It smells amazing with a bright citrus like Ginger Lime Fragrance Oil. It’s a great conversation starter for a craft fair or market!
The new Green Salsa Fragrance Oil is totally unique, and really smells like a zesty jalapeño pepper!
If you’re a melt and pour soaper, you’re probably familiar with Color Blocks. They are pieces of melt and pour soap that are highly concentrated with various micas, oxides and pigments. Add pieces of the Color Block to your melt and pour soap. It will melt and blend in smoothly without clumps. We created six new Color Block options with some of our best selling micas, including Queen’s Purple Mica and Magenta Mica.

Love new tools and molds? The new Adjustable Wooden Soap Cutter gives you straight and even bars of soap every time. The cutter can be adjusted so you can choose a different width each time. The 6″ Heavy Duty Column Mold was designed to create pillar candles, but it can also be used for soap projects! We also added a few different sizes of measuring cups, including a 8 oz. Measuring Cup, 32 oz. Measuring Cup and a 16 oz. Measuring Cup.

Another new addition are essential waters. Essential water is made by infusing distilled water with essential oils. We now carry four different kinds: Chamomile Essential Water, Lavender Essential Water, Cucumber Essential Water and Jasmine Essential Water. They can be used in a few different projects including lotions, facial sprays or cold process soap. In the DIY Cucumber Lavender Face Spritzer, a combination of Jasmine Essential Water and Cucumber Essential Water add a light scent and calming properties.
