We recently received some feedback from some fabulous Bramble Berry customers who mentioned that they find it a little bit inconvenient to log into their BB account when placing an online order. I know shopping online can be frustrating at times and we don’t want our customers going through any grief. The great news is that our system does allow you to place orders without logging into an account! If you have previously made an account with us, you’ll just have to use an alternate email address to order as a guest.
How to Order as BB Guest
ONE: Go to www.brambleberry.com and add items to your cart by clicking “Add to Cart”. Remember that you’re not into an account, so if you leave the Bramble Berry website you may lose your shopping cart. Eek!
TWO: Once you have all of the items you want to purchase in your shopping cart, click ‘Checkout Now’.
THREE: Enter your billing and shipping addresses. Then enter an email address that has not been previously registered with Bramble Berry. This is where your invoice, shipping notices, any issues with your order etc… will be emailed. Click ‘Continue’.
FOUR: Check the box that allows you to continue without creating an account. As soon as you do, the prompt to enter a password will disappear.
FIVE: Scroll down and enter your payment information and you’re done! You’ll know that the order went through when you are taken to the next screen with your order number. Write this number down as you won’t be able to return to our website to check your order status, one of the downfalls of ordering as a guest.
Team Bramble Berry is always here for you so call (1-87-SOAP-STUFF) or email anytime. We’re answering phones and emails and are so psyched to help from 9am-4pm (pst)!
NOTE: Another downside to ordering without a Bramble account is that you can’t order any “digital goods”. That means no E-Books, Videos or Free PDF Labels and Files. You must have an account in order download the actual file.

Super! I actually Tweeted this question last night: What is the advantage to an online retailer of making customers login to make a purchase? No one has replied yet. I was prompted to ask the question when, after putting numerous bars of soap into a shopping cart when the ‘Net was running slowly, I finally made it to the payment page. I could not recall my login and things were moving so slowly that I knew it would take forever to send for it, etc. I ended up abandoning the order 🙁

Not one comment? So sad! I find Twitter is getting more and more crowded and less and less useful for crowdsourcing. I get better luck with FB these days.
Sad for that soap company though.

I’m glad I live close by enough that I can shop in person. I have trouble with remembering passwords at the best of times, but it’s just so much more fun to sniff all the scents and drool over the soaps in the store.

Haha…I know what you mean, Monica. Seeing and sniffing in person is so much fun!

I agree..nice improvement. While we are on the subject of website improvements I’d love to see a separate listing of Phthalate free fragrance oils. Thanks!
Courtney says
The phthalate free list is an on going project that we would love to eventually get up on the website. If you email customer service we can send you our current phthalate free list. None of the new fragrances coming in will contain phthalates.

Aaaahh!! This is great, I can’t tell you how many times I have been locked out of my account and couldn’t place an order. I usually get frustrated and not order so I am super excited to see this change.
Courtney says
We’ve always had this option but we didn’t think many people knew about it. We thought blogging about it would be a good idea =)
I’m not very good at remembering passwords either.

I like having an acct (so I can keep an ongoing wish-list), but sometimes it’s hard to log on. I sometimes forget my password and the system only gives you so many chances to try it before it kicks you off (or at least that’s the way it was…unless it’s changed now; I’ve been better about remembering my password so haven’t had to face the warning…LOL!).
Courtney says
Having an account is so nice because you can check on the status of the order- I just wish we didn’t have to make you guys remember a password. But for the safety of your account, it’s a must.
