Nancy,
If you want to make soap with Fractionated Coconut Oil, I'd keep it to 35% (max) for the FCO to ensure that you get a soap that lathers well and is hard enough to withstand normal showering conditions. =)
Kelly Croasmun says
I'm making the Wonder soap from the SoapyLove book! I'm using pink, purple & fuschia colored soap balls in a white base. I can't wait to see it cut! π LOVE the blog, by the way. It's saved in my favorites!
Exotic Life says
I will be working on an olive oil and shea CP soap scented with Bramble Berry's Matcha Tea fragrance oil. It's such a wonderful, fresh scent perfect for those mornings when it's hard to wake up!
Merryn says
Ohh, I've been busy and I have Castille soap, Goat Milk & Oatmeal Soap, and Rosemary Shaving Soap working right now. Can't wait to be able to set them to cure!
Herb Princess says
Oatmeal Milk and Honey with goats milk and a little ground oatmeal (finely)
and almond/amaretto–such a delight!

I'm making Lemongrass soap tonight.

My pot is sadly empty this week. I am busy taking a business class online, as well as studying every soap book I can get my hands on. I am also waiting to POUNCE on the mailman as I am waiting (impatiently) for my Cold process DVD from Brambleberry that I ordered last week!!!!!
I LOVE Soap Queen!

Hi Anne-Marie! My next soap will be more Coconut lime verbena. I like to do it with a nice green swirl. I just finished making some tea tree shampoo bars and they are waiting to be cut.

Ah, if I get a moment to myself (school just started again here in Australia) I plan on finally rebatching a mishap I had! I made that coconut/cocoa butter soap of yours Anne-Marie, but I stupidly mixed my coconut milk powder in my lye water and left it there for a little bit, which ended up saponifying in the jug… and didn't quite blend properly with the oils… resulting in a lesson learned π
Jean says
Monday I did a rebatch of a soap that didn't turn out so hot the first time. It's looking good this time around. I also hope to make a batch of Karma soap this week. If you haven't tried Brambleberry's Karma EO Blend, do yourself a favor and check it out. It's soooooo good.
Morgane et Romeo says
Thinking what Valentines soaps to make for my friends! But would love to try the cold press technique!
Good luck every one!

I have a lot of fractionated coconut oil that was given to me and I'd like to find out how to make CP soap with it and use it up. I plan to use Karma ESO blend.

Our soap pot is definitely our comfort, especially during the grey drizzly days in the Pacific Northwest! This week we're making Tea Tree AND Lemongrass Patchouli. To spice things up we're experimenting with a thin black line in the middle of the CP soap, it's going to be amazing (hopefully:)
Thanks for your great blog – my sister and I will phone each other during the day and say "THERE'S A NEW POST on Brambleberry!!" You're a blessing to us!!
Brett says
I'm planning on doing a CP soap with coconut, palm, canola, sweet almond, and castor oils, scented with spearmint EO and rosemary EO. I'm donating the bars to the cancer retreat charity so that each visitor gets to have a nice welcome with a fresh, handmade, 100% natural bar of soap.
Audrey says
I made some super strong espresso coffee soap with gounds in it. No added fragrance or color.
Kelly Taylor says
What a generous offer, A-M!
Thank you, but I am replying not to win the app, but I will Tweet about you! I do all the time!
And, by the way, I am very busy making a private label whole suite and ensemble of products for a brand new high end spa. The presentation is tomorrow AM and I am under the gun to get all my little duckies a row in order to present myself and my products in a professional manner! Everything seems to be a #prototype! (WHAT did we do without word processors, oh my GOSH!) (that was before dirt was new btw!) LOL!
Anyways I am making and presenting:
Lavender/Citrus Loofah soaps with EO's from BB!
Spearmint Eucalyptus EO ditto ditto
Tangerine/Gingerfish/PinkGrapefruit ditto ditto
and Peppermint Tea Tree EO loaves
Along with the soaps go matching:
Soy candles in frosted containers
Solid sugar scrubs
Mineral milk bath salts
Bath bombs (maybe) (still gotta get those mondo molds π
and Shea Whip
They look so pretty! the colors are breath taking! i am a firm believer that color must accompany fragrance at all times! π
all of the recipes came from our one and only Soap Queen, the Extraordinary smiley sparkly one!
Send good thoughts my way tomorrow as I am hoping the lady cuts me a check on the spot. A big one. oh yeah…
It is a private label account.
Okay, back to labeling.
(and to think; this time last year I could not make my own labels let along someone elses! LOLOLOL!)
toodles!

Just finishing a soap package to be shipped to my nephew- 2 bars are olive oil base with Bramble Berry Energy- he loves this scent!
John Scarlet says
Anne-Marie,
So does this mean, When in doubt add more fragrance? Or can adding too much fragrance in trace along with my superfats, result is sloppy, runny soap? Cause we all fear that.
I'll be using the 10x Orange and Ylang Ylang Essential Oils from this awesome little company called BrambleBerry. :p
Anne-Marie says
AJ, Ginger and Lime is delish. Such a refreshing scent.
John, You have quite the recipe going with that! The Orange with Ylang Ylang might be light so keep that in mind because of the weaker orange notes in CP (assuming you're using an EO).
Adrienne, Love salt bars! Have you figured out a way to get them to not 'weep' when they're sitting out on the shelves thought?
Adrienne W says
it's a salty spa bar…scruby and lovely!
John Scarlet says
BTW, I'm jacen381 on twitter(one of the Brambleberry followers). I couldn't link in my Twitter name (for the sake of the cool contest you have going).
John Scarlet says
Still waiting for supplies to come in, BUT I'll be making a batch of Cold-Processed soap (still milling about what to name it) This is whats in the pot:
-Olive Oil
-Palm Oil
-Coconut Oil
-Avocado Oil
-Natural Hempseed Oil
-Mango Butter
-Shea Butter
+Superfatting with some Castor Oil
+Jojoba Seeds for mild exfoliation
Fragrance: It's a toss-up, leaning toward an Orange with hints of Eucalyptus, or a mild Orange with Ylang Ylang… but I have enough for two batches so I guess I can do both :]
A.J. says
Working on Ginger and Lime.

What would I do without BrambleBerry! I feel like I just received my last order, and I'm just about ready to order again! π Having way too much soapy fun!!! This past week, I made Caribbean Dream (Pinapple Cilantro & Island Coconut), Vanilla Bean, and I just trimmed Almond Milk yesterday; yummy!!!
Risa says
Well, let's see. Already did the Lavender and the Rose batches, working on the Lime Margarita and the Patchouli batches, then have to do the Fresh Lemon Kitchen and the either Lemon or Lemongrass and Sage Mechanic's soap batches. Not sure which ones will come next, but have plenty that need to get made for a craft show the end of the month.
Jamie Cody says
I'm all out of Oatmeal Milk and Honey soap so that's what I'm making this week! LOVE your OMH fragrance. None beat it! I also plan on making orange dreamsicle soap too.

In Dreaming Tree's Soap pot this week there is everything we could possibly make until out supply order gets in. Pure of heart, a special limited edition Absinthe soap that smells to die for, the return of Wicked Queen one of our best sellers that we've finally been able to replicate the fragrance since it'd been discontinued, our awesome Siren of the Sea Sea Salt bars, Harvest Moon I'd have to say the yummiest smelling soap ever -buttery vanilla, sweet pumpkin, and honey chock full of cocoa and shea butters and oats!
Maranda says
Actually, I am making my first batch of soap ever tonight! I am so excited! It will be fragranced with Kumquat from Brambleberry! I have learned so much from this blog! Thanks for sharing so much wonderful information! Thanks, Maranda

I can not tell a lie and say there is anything in my soap pot as I haven't had time lately to make soap. But I will say that as far as soap my newest fav soap supply is goat's milk!

I'm making solid sugar scrubs!! In Rosehip Jasmine.

Amy, Your soap looks super cute! Love Orange and Lemon together – such a happy fragrance.
Karen, Rose Bud Soap with green and red sounds interesting. If you used oxides, it definitely won't bleed. If you used FD & Cs or Labcolors, it might… Fingers crossed for you.
Becky, do you sell the unscented castile as a baby soap as well? It's so gentle for the skin that it would be a great fit!
Becky says
My soap pot has a special order of unscented castile soap in it this week. Super mild formula with lots of olive oil, with shea butter added. I used to think unscented soap was boring, but I love the simplicity of it!
Karen S says
My soap pot has a remnants of rose bud soap – the bottom half is emerald green and scented with Rain and the top half is red scented with baby rose….hopefully the colors will stay true and won't bleed once it hardens up. Smells like summer in the kitchen, which is needed on this icy dreary day
