Thank you for your amazing goals. Over 95 of you commented, listed goals and came up with a great plan to move yourself ahead in 2009. If you’d like to see the inspiring goals others set, they’re spaced over three days of posts – here, here and here. Regina from Dr. Flowers Essentials, a long time supporter of this blog and Bramble Berry, was the comment that was randomly chosen by an online number generator to receive a goody packet for her participation.
Overwhelmingly, at least half of you had business goals. They ranged from getting new accounts, to doing new craft shows, to streamlining inventory to increasing consumer sales. I read your frequently and want this blog to be a reflection of the interests that you have.
Over the coming two weeks, I’ll be writing and posting a series on ‘growing your business’. This new series will show you how to plan for stable growth in 2009. It does require homework but if you’ve never sat down to truly map out your business and plan for success, this is the time to do it.
Join me over the next few weeks in exploring the foundations of a successful small business so that you and your business can shine in ’09!
———————————————————————————————–
Day One – What do you want your business to look like?
Day Two – Working out a simple business plan

Day Seven – Getting your goals into action
Day Eight – Positive people can help you reach your goals
Day Nine – The possibilities are endless

Thanks Anne Marie for helping us out with your knowledge and experience. I didn’t start with a business plan so I hope it’s not too late. Sometimes it seems there is so much to learn–it makes my head swim. Having you break up the topics a little each day will really help!!

MtSuz, I agree – the word for the year should be “Habit”. You hit the nail right on the head – with weight loss goals, with blogging and business goals and even with organizational or family goals, it’s the little daily habits that make the huge overall change in your business and personal life.

I, too, am very happy you’re doing this. You are an amazing person to share all of this information both creatively and business.
I would also like to let you know that I’ve been on BB’s site looking around at stuff so I can place an “oh my goodness I blew through all my supplies at Christmas” order and noticed the grab bags. I’m waaaay too excited!! It is like being able to buy my own prize pack! 🙂 Thanks for making these!!! Holding out for the January scent specials before making my final decisions. 🙂 Its time for me to start streamlining my own scent line, what a tough process!

Writing goals. Something I always keep at the back of my mind but haven’t done. Another great idea I read about this year was to pick a word and start a personal journal that you write in every day. My word for the year is habit. I want to make success a habit this year and am greatly looking forward to this lesson. Thanks for all that you do Ann-Marie. You are an inspiration.

I’m not one who wants a business but I can learn and apply to other areas of my life.
Hey, this will be my first goal achievement for ’09 “To learn something new ….”
Thanks Anne-Marie

Hi AM
thank you for this post and the upcoming ones. I’ve been sitting at my computer this morning reading posts on the E-Myth blog and what you have described for your upcoming lessons is what I have decided to do for my business this year. Oh how timely and wonderful and I thank you for the help you are giving me and others.

Well I’m pleased as punch that I won the random drawing! This map of growing your business is just what the Dr. Flower needs! I look around at those that have posted and I’m in very good company! Can’t wait to follow on a daily basis as it in itself is a lesson on daily schedules of discipline and training your mind to work on things one step at a time. Thanks Anne-Marie!

Congrats to Regina!
I, too, am looking forward to following your posts and doing homework! (I didn’t list it as a goal here, but since I got my kids started on the biz, I really do need to learn a lot about running a biz myself to impart the wisdom to them.) Thanks in advance!
