I am so buoyed by the sunshine in Washington state that all I can see is cherry trees in bloom and dream of fresh garden vegetables. Along with the myriad of plant life comes bug life too. My favorite insect is the beautiful, flying little rotund ladybug. Since these red little balls of happiness don’t fly unless it’s 55 degrees or warmer, seeing any of them around town is a good sign that warmer weather is hopefully here to stay. Check out all the goodies I found with ladybugs as the star. Spring is here and so are the ladybugs.

  1. Ok, I just read the posts above and learned that they bite. YIKES!!! I had no idea. One of my kids said she was bitten last year and I thought she was pulling my leg. Now I don’t want them in the house anymore 🙁

I’ll take a colorful, stuffed, statue, whatever ladybug over the real flying ones in my room. LOL!

  2. If you really love ladybugs AM I can send you the 40 I found in my bedroom. One or two hung out over winter and then they multiplied. Each dies off and a new 10 replace the one. LOL!!! I like your buggy finds, ladybugs really are cute!

  3. A-M, Teresa R is so right! Lady Bugs now have a new meaning to many of us! They infest the house in the spring and fall – and they bite! You can’t get rid of them! Sadly, I can’t buy any crafts with them any more…

  4. Lovely Lady’s! I bought one a pack of ‘live landybugs’ lsat year since we we’re having a minor aphid issue in the garden. Can’t wait to see if some stuck around!

  5. I used to love ladybugs (actually, I still love the native ladybugs), but the Asian ladybugs that have started taking over many areas of North America is making me change my mind: they bite, they hibernate in your house, and they emit the worst odor when disturbed.

I do adore the ladybug crafts though. 🙂
