You can definitely use CP soap that is premade. Bramble Berry sells it pre-shredded here: https://www.brambleberry.com/Re… and we did a video on how to use it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…
I wouldn’t necessarily call the soap the ‘fast food’ of soap because there are some great bases with fantastic ingredient lists (like some of the BB house bases: https://www.brambleberry.com/Br… so it’s totally a personal preference on if you want to totally control the ingredients in your soap and love making things from scratch. I would purchase a few MP bars and CP bars from Etsy.com and make an informed decision after using multiple types of soap.

Hello Soap Queen, so happy to have come across your blog: it is amazing! I am so impressed! I am trying to now to get togheter all the ingredients I need to make my first batch, yay! and I decided I would like to avoid using lye…hard to come across it, nobody will ship it, etc.. And then I found some website that sells CP bases which seems to be the perfect option for me. My question is: if I use a CP base (the shredded stuff that they sell, like at Snowdrift Farms, how would this be any different than simply using the MP process and the MP base? What is the difference between CP base and MP base?
From what I have read online it seems that MP is considered the fast food of soap making and, lower quality, etc. I am trying to stay away from that. I don’t mind to put in extra effort and get a quality product. I would like though, very much, to understand what the difference between the two is so I can make an informed purchase.
Thank you so much,
Lavinia

Aw thanks Heidi. I missed the blog too! If we hadn’t been CRAZED insanity busy with out of town guests, multiple parties every day and other awesome (but time consuming) family stuff, I totally would have been all over at least one more blog post. I thought about it often, around 1 a.m. when I fell asleep exhausted each night! =)))
I hope you had an equally eh hem, um, relaxing Fourth of July filled with family and friends.
I agree – the massage molds pop out nicely. It has a 5% slope on the sides that helps to pop out (versus totally 100% straight sides).

Hi AM-
I just have to tell you how much you are missed when it’s a holiday and you don’t post daily :(….Truly your blog has become one of the highlight’s of my day…but I totally understand that you need time off, just like everyone else! I received my massage bar mold…and did a creamy vanilla massage bar, with orange massage rounder things (like you did in the red white and blue). It turned out so cute! I am planning ahead to fall already. I was completely thrilled with the ease of popping out the finished product…those molds rock! I am going to buy some more today and try a few of the Soapylove ones. Thank you for being so awesome! Much love-Heidi-Outre Beauty Bistro
