Labor Day 2011

Happy Labor Day everyone. I hope that you are enjoying the long weekend celebrating the economic and social contributions of workers. I’ve been busy enjoying the last of the PNW summer with three urban hikes (hiking through town, up and down hills and in and out of neighborhoods) and one real deal outdoor hike. Chris, Jamisen and I hiked to Fragrance Lake in Bellingham. It was a beautiful day to hike and we ran into multiple sets of friends on the hiking trail.

Labor Day 2011

It’s been fantastic having a beautiful PNW weekend with my family. Jamisen did great on his hikes, even waiting an extra 30 minutes to eat (bless his little patient heart) so we could get down off the mountain. Pre-baby, hiking was one of my favorite things to do in the summer and early fall and it was great to get out onto the mountain again. Bless Chris and his willingness to trek our 14 pound + baby up the mountain in the Baby Bjorn.

My creation

Bramble Berry will be open again tomorrow to catch up on everything we missed today.

  1. You live in a beautiful area! I can’t wait for heat to come down to go hiking with kids and our new puppy 🙂 Liana.

  2. I’m hoping that we’ll have a nice mild fall here in the Northwest to make up for the lack of summer. Here’s to many more days of hiking.
