In my Sampler a few months ago, there was an amazing Letterpress Notebook from Chronicle Books in San Francisco. Upon receipt, it was love at first sight and I took my notebook to everywhere – to every meeting, every event and even grocery store shopping. The paper is thick and luxuriously fine grained, and the cover design unique and eye catching.
And then, disaster struck… when the notebook was 3/4 fill of maniacal scribbling (business ideas galore! To-Do Lists overflowing! The next million dollar idea!), my car was broken into. Alas, the beautiful purse/briefcase that was stolen held the esteemed notebook (and my checkbook, all my Christmas gift certificates, our wedding photos and Otion’s tax forms for Q4 to name a few other items in the purse).
I was incredibly disappointed at the entire experience but the irreplaceable loss was the notebook. Hoping to recapture the magic, I have three more notebooks on the way right now. After all, you never know when that next great idea will come to you. You can scurry over to Chronicle Books and get your own Hammerpress Superfine Notebook for $9.95.

Thanks all for your thoughts. The theft happened last month so I’m pretty okay with it now.
And really, I feel lucky and blessed to even have a car that someone could break into. After all, I could be riding mass transit all the time. =) So, it’s totally all good. And the window is fixed so besides missing a few possessions, all is well. =)

To My dear friend and hopefully my Super boss!I cannot believe how people can be.Yes,seen alot in the EMS and Rehab field, but yet life continually stuns me if even for one moment.Your Mother lost her beatuiful trees,My Dad Twin Sister passes, you get you car broken into and my other Aunt passes(this time very unexpectedly).Unfortunately,I have no words of wisdom, except the “Serenity Prayer”.As I have said before you ARE a lovely person-inside.o one deserves the pain or violence that has beem inflicted-breaking windsows and rooting up trees. My family was snowed in in Orland with my Aunt, just got the call that they all arrived even with the horrible flying conditions (they laid over for 24hrs),tomarrow we pay homage to a woman who was so strong who lived through burying her youngest son and her husban falling dead in front of her.She continued her life and she was a woman who always smiled through everything, she always had a waondrful attitude-through the worst-she was one of 9 childre raised during the depression, that is how she coped, survived and was beautiful. She was part Scoth/Irish and part German.I am 50% ScotchIrishBoth Gand mothers ancestors were from Scotland/Ireland.So as I searched in my mind how to pay my tribute to her I found a picture of (her) Aunt Carol, her date-turned Uncle Al,my Dad and My Mom.Aunt Carol introduced my parents that night on a “blind date”,look where we are now!I am taking those picture for her two and last living children to see-their Mom and their Dad,Their Aunt and thank heavens my Dad is still with us!
So I wish for you,My dearest Anne Marie, that you can take stock like I did.We can’t live in the past but sometimes we take comfort in it.Thsi pic was accidentally found by me and I cherish it so much because it was a picture of TH E BEGINNING-of new loves, new lives, new beginnings, who new it was going to turn out that way?I am living proof-I was a result of a gentlemanly operation,Mom had a hard time carrying, and then there I am on an x-ray,no complications with my birth! So what all we have been through, there truly is a time to reap and a time to sow.
I love ya Anne-Marie,your call was what I was waiting on!We are all stronger than we realize, even if we do smile through tears.Love your beautiful tribute to “We Celtic”!Shamrocks, beautiful and lovely!Maybe I will send you a true Irish Shamrock Plant-they are beautiful!God Bless You and tell your parents I continue to think of them and the trees.I am just glad no one was physically hurt!
Much Love TO All!Beckie

p.s. Thanks for introducing me to Chronicle Books! I’ve been looking for a blank Moleskin book, and they actually have it…yay!

You are in need of another hug…{{{Anne-Marie}}} That is just awful – your parents’ plants stolen, your car broken into and all those things stolen. Why can’t these awful things happen to an awful person instead? 🙁

Sucky. Did they catch the thieves?

Diana, you are so right. That Hot Chocolate series is very cute and nicely designed. Thanks for the tip.
Joanna, no worries on the fast and furious typing. The blogger no-edit function on comments often causes fun little grammar issues. Either way, your caring and sweet thought comes through loud and clear. Thanks for the comiseration. =)

Anna Marie,
I am so sorry to hear that your car was broken into. I have been a victim of that once or twice and I know the anguish you feel afterward.
Like you I am constantly on the search for a unique notebook to write my thoughts in.
My current one is from ucreate.com. They have a hot chocolate series you can find at target, walmart etc.

I will definitely look at the ones from chronicle books to add to my obsession. 🙂

I just reread my comment. Not having enough coffee in the a.m. definately hinders my ability to articulate….

I am sorry you got robbed. It is awful! I have been burglarized a few times in my life and it feels so invasive. Like someone smacked me in the face. I have always taken it so personally. And then to have taken something so dear to you! I feel for you.
Luckily you have a big brain and in perpetual motion so your ideas will be spitting out uncontrollably in your new books!
