DIY Glitter Soap Boxes Tutorial. A little glitter takes these boxes from simple to amazing!

For the next few weeks, we are sharing sparkly projects featuring a wide variety of micas. All this sparkle and shine has me completely inspired and excited for the holidays. I love giving sparkling soap as gifts…and my friends love receiving them! Of course no present is complete without a polished label, package or wrapping. It’s easy to incorporate sparkle and shine to your packaging with just a little glitter and glue. If you’re looking for a way to package your sparkly project, look no further than these DIY Glitter Soap Boxes!

Super easy to make, all you need for this project is some glitter, glue, tape and soap boxes! Simply lay down tape, brush on glue and sprinkle on plenty of glitter. We used Gold Nail Polish Glitter, but these boxes would also look great with Silver Nail Polish or Iridescent Glitter as well. Melt & Pour Soap Ribbons

One of the great things about melt and pour soap is its versatility. It allows you to create intricate details, complicated patterns and in this case, cute little bows! The key to this project is adding extra liquid glycerin to the melt & pour base to give the soap extra flexibility to manipulate into bows.

This project does take a little extra patience and a steady hand, but once you get the hang of making them they make for adorable embellishments on all kinds of soapy projects.

The results are in: Winners of #BBEarthDay and #ShowMomLove

This past month at Bramble Berry, we’ve held more contests than a carnival! We had two running simultaneously, and now it’s time to reveal the winners.

Show Mom Love was inspired by Mother’s Day, and it encouraged participants to show off a beautiful handmade gift they had made for someone else. Winners could receive a Soap Crafting Kit to send to their mom for Mother’s Day. #BBEarthDay was inspired by a different holiday — Earth Day! Participants were asked to show off a creative recycled mold. Both contests ended yesterday, so we’ve rounded up the winners below. Just in time for Mother’s Day, the Show Mom Love contest was all about gift giving. Using an Instagram, Twitter or Pinterest account, we asked people to show us a gift they had made for someone else. On Assembling Soap Boxes

Beautiful handcrafted soap? ✔ Check. A schedule of craft shows, list of farmers’ markets, or growing Etsy shop? ✔ Check. Equally lovely packaging to go with your equally lovely soaps? Uh-oh! Many crafters may not realize it, but the way products are packaged influence a consumer to buy just as much at the actual products themselves. These soap boxes, made from sturdy cardboard, are elegant enough on their own or easy enough to embellish with ribbon or crinkle paper.

Sturdy and compact, the Sleeve and Tray Boxes are the perfect soapy packaging.

Each box measures 3 1/4″ long, 2 3/8″ across and is 1 1/4″ deep, and has a small oval cut out so the actual soap can be smelled and viewed without opening the box.  Boxes arrive in two pieces — the main box and the slide sleeve. Assembling these little guys is easy. Here is a quick Instagram video demonstrating how:
