The artistry and painstaking patience on these cupcakes is astounding. Kylie Lambert has taken the cow cupcakes to an art form – and a consumable art form to boot. Anything this pretty deserves recognition, praise and then, a thorough devouring.

Thank you Michelle (LoveMichie) from Oats and Honey, for sending this fabulous photo of her Bath Cupcakes (learn how to make your own here).
She says:
I was inspired by your bath cupcake post and decided to make my own! The cupcake is scented with pineapple and the frosting is scented with coconut, I also added a hint of vanilla to make it smell more cake-like. The frosting was made by whipping cocoa butter and coconut oil, was a little soft and didn’t harden well (added too much coconut oil).
I added a candy flower because I had some lying around. I hope you like it!
It’s a wonderful looking bath cupcake and Pineapple Coconut is the perfect foil for dreary weather. Thanks for sharing!

Even (perceived) stodgy ol’ Sears is jumping on the cupcake trend bandwagon with this cute cupcake pendant. The white and rose gold (with real diamond accents) pendant certainly looks very bling-y.
For $119, it would make a pricey stocking stuffer but it’s a sure way to any cupcake-lover’s heart.
Thank you to the astute Soap Queen reader for telling me about this find.

Thank you Joanna at Product Body for alerting me to this fabulous idea – cupcake wine. With my love (okay, obsession) for all things cupcake, it was a good guess that I’d be interested.
It’s not really cupcake wine and it doesn’t taste too sweet. It’s actually a wine from Cupcake Vineyards.
From the World Market site:
A big, rich Chardonnay from California’s desirable Central Coast, where the sun drenched grapes create full and elegantly-textured wines. Decadent layers of butter, cream, bright citrus and vanilla melt into a balance of oak and subtle spice. In other words: Sinful.
This isn’t just a powderpuff, hip-name, wine. It’s been getting rave reviews everywhere:

So, if you’re looking for a cheeky wine with flavor for the right price ($10) Cupcake Vineyards Chardonnay is it!

Thank you CakeSpy for featuring these super crafty felt cupcakes. I should order myself a set or two since the real things aren’t doing me any favors lately.
Just today, Michelle commented:
“I’ve gained a few pounds and I’m going to blame your blog.”
Truth be told, I’ve gained a few pounds and I’m definitely blaming my blog! Yesterday, I met with Jody (founder of Cupcake Royale) and she graciously let me sample her Cupcake Harvest cupcakes. I proceeded to eat three partial cupcakes, all in the name of research (of course!). The Carmel Apple was definitely my favorite of the bunch. However, being filled with sugar and fat, all of the cupcakes were delicious. And, again, being filled with sugar and fat, all of the cupcakes are hip expanding, thigh enhancing, stomach softening little morsels of sin.
(grumble grumble) So, it’s off to the gym for me and back to eggs salad and fruit for the rest of the week.

These amazing cupcakes look delicious. It’s lunchtime. If I were closer to Seattle, I’d seriously consider heading over to Bluebottle and grab one of these sugary morsels.
As it is, I’ll sit here at my desk and try to be content with my hard boiled egg, pear and Douglas Fir Tip Tea for lunch.

In the meantime, feast your eyes and allow your mouth to water while gazing upon this Pink Lemon Cupcake.
Yum!

The baker says:
Although it’s not a cupcake that I created from scratch, this cupcake was inspired by one of my fave Malay dessert, Puteri-Salat a.k.a Seri Muka a.k.a. Glutinous Rice with Egg Custard. I basically use my fave basic moist vanilla cupcake recipe and simply fillled and iced the cupcakes with the egg custard. I love the East-meets-West combo and so did my samplers.
The actual dessert is the cake slice up front with the inspirational me-too dessert cupcake behind.

Hiding the little square boxes of cupcakes was a challenge. The answer to the challenge was candy – copious amounts of candy!
The Skittles were received the best. The Skittles could be eating with the cupcakes. The Sweet Tarts and Starbursts had to be eaten separately from the cupcake. Also, the Skittles added a nice burst of extra fruit flavor once the cupcake was consumed.
The candy saved the day and made the square cupcakes look like something cute and crafty. As a bonus, the extra sugar in the candy helped prolong the sugar high for everyone.

In my excitement to get the tiered cupcake project started, I pulled out the flat sheet cake while it was soft and steaming. The directions said to wait at least 10 minutes. I probably waited 4. The cake broke, reducing the amount of space I could cut from. Obvious Lesson: Following directions, especially when printed on the back of a box, is good.
I started to cut little mini cupcakes from the sheet. Cutting circles was far too difficult so I took a short cut and just made little squares. With massive amounts of frosting on the squares, in theory, the squares should look somewhat cupcake round-like.
I was wrong. They look like squares covered in frosting. Also, raw pieces of cake are difficult to frost.
This is the photo of the cupcakes. They look sad, dismal and need serious professional help. Frosting cupcakes by hand is difficult work! I have a new appreciation for pastry chefs. I would have used the frosting kit from the bath cupcakes project (click here to see the project) but it has been heavily in use for soap projects and isn’t food-grade anymore. For a brief moment, I considered eating all 12 cupcakes to get rid of the evidence of failure. My husband pulled me back from the brink of utter sugar induced craziness and we set about problem-solving.
Check back later for photos and the tale of salvaging the cupcakes.

I made tiered cupcakes last night! I didn’t have multiple sizes of muffin tins available (as suggested by this site) so made modifications to the technique.
In a fit of hunger and indecision, I purchased multiple frostings, candies and cake mixes. I settled for a confetti rainbow cake mix (not pictured) for Norman’s Anniversary Cupcakes. He’s been at Bramble Berry for eight years and deserves much thanks and praise.
The ideal way to make multi-layered cupcakes is to have a cupcake tin sized smaller than the base cupcake. Having no such 2nd cupcake tin, I improvised. I poured a flat sheet cake to cut baby cupcakes out of. When they are frosted, no one will know that they weren’t real cupcakes.
After the cupcakes had cooled for 10 minutes, I cut the tops off the cupcakes to make them into a flat surface for the next layer.
Check back later for the rest of the steps to build nifty tiered cupcakes.
