Happy weekend everyone, I hope your week is coming to a wonderful close and you’re busy preparing for a weekend summer adventure. Our Chief Operating Officer Norm returned to the office yesterday after a month-long trip to Europe, and we greeted him with a little prank — after all, who wouldn’t want to return to an office full of packing peanuts after 20 hours of travel time!? (Okay, so we didn’t actually fill his whole office with peanuts, but it sure did fool him). We also made him his own Mini-Me to leave with us next time he takes a vacation (which I am hoping is no time soon; the place isn’t the same without him).

Aside from the pranks, there was another wonderful display of soapy creations on the Bramble Berry Facebook page. This fashion-friendly soap is super cute and super trendy:

This week’s photo comes to us from Susan at JBS Farm. Her soap Burberry Plaid soap caught my eye for the precise design and the attention to detail. The colors were spot-on and the lines were so straight. I could hardly believe it when I found that Susan had just starting soaping this last March! What an inspiration to new and established soapers. Thanks to everyone who participates each week by posting photos, asking questions and sharing soapy stories on our Facebook.

With all the fun happenings at Bramble Berry and Soap Quee n, this last week has just flown by! We’ve had one of our last guest posts from the Soap Guild show (written by our very own Kat Hackney), a brand new Make it Month with Woodland Elves, the sample fragrance of the month, and a unique chance for you to inspire a Soap Queen tutorial. This week’s photo comes to us from the very talented Lena at Lena Alma Handmade. This masterfully executed piano keys soap was created using Bramble Berry’s new 4″ silicone mold that was part of our Soap Guild Conference Goodie Bag earlier this year. Did you know I play piano? I took lessons for 13 years and enjoy playing to this day. Her soap caught my eye with its crisp black embeds in a milky white background that resemble adorable piano keys. Expect a soapy little package coming your way, Lena! Thanks again to everyone else who is part of our soap making community each and every week. I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July spent with family and friends. Our little family (including the newest addition, Lily) was able to participate in all the daytime festivities and had a fun time in the sun (and a tense time in the evening; Miss Lily was up past 1 a.m., crying. Right or wrong, I’m blaming the fireworks). Yesterday we announced the winners of our Fourth of July Challenge, and you can see the winners here. In addition to the amazing entries into our challenge, we have a real treat for this weeks Facebook Photo of the Week. Are you ready to see who made these adorable soaps?

The winning soaps this week could not be cuter! These adorable little Koko-Girls were made by the talented Maria, of Kokolele Soaps. Maria is a fantastic melt-and-pour soapcrafter, and the intricate details in her work is inspiring. If you’d like to learn more about Maria and her talent, check out this interview. These party favor soaps were made using Bramble Berry’s Round 3D Mold, and Maria even has a Koko-Boys set in progress (I can’t wait to meet them!). Happy Friday! This week, Lily and I have made a few batches of soap, given a talk on entrepreneurship at the college, and enjoyed wandering through Bramble Berry’s Facebook page and seeing photo after photo of beautiful soapy creations. She’ll be a soap expert before she’s 1! From the #4thofJuly Challenge (see our Facebook album here) to summer inspired projects (like this one and this one), there was no shortage of creativity and inspiration. This week’s tropical soaps were made by Hilary at Ivy Lane Soaperie. These two soaps are immediately eye-catching because of their bright colors. Hilary says the swirl blue soap on the left was scented with Soapy Clean Fragrance Oil and colored with Aqua Pearl Mica (which is her go-to summer color). The soap on the right, Lemonade Pie, blended several Bramble Berry citrus scents. As Camp Bramble Berry is winding down, I’ve been having a good time playing with its aftermath. Whoops, did I say “I”? I mean, Jamiseen has (duh!). He loves the bubbles and the goopy floop the most (“goopy floop” being a technical term, of course). Bramble Berry’s Facebook page has been busy this week. There have been a number of entries to our #4thofJuly Challenge contest already, and that doesn’t even begin to include the number of beautiful soapy photos on the page every day. This week’s winner was an inspiration with bright summer colors and fabulous design. Check it out below…

The burst of rainbow color in this ginger peach soap from Moriam at Moe’s Natural Products caught my eye. It’s such a creamy looking soap, and it’s made with both coconut and Goat’s Milk, giving it a super skin-loving lather. The official first day of summer is just around the corner! With all this summer sunshine comes bright pops of color which inspire my soapmaking, and looking through Bramble Berry’s Facebook page this last week I could tell that the warmer summer weather has definitely been inspiring yours as well. This week’s charming photo came to us from Elaine at Lainie’s Menagerie. Her use of LabColors really made her soap stand out and give it a retro tie-dye look (for more information on how to use Bramble Berry’s LabColors, check out the following blog posts here, here and here). Elaine told us she wanted a design that reflected her work as an artist and she was so happy with this ‘watercolor’ look! Thank you so much to all our readers for being a part of the soapmaking community on Facebook.
