We just got done filming Soap Queen TV and the shoot went smoothly (mostly because of the awesome Soap Queen TV team). The crew and I had fun as usual (laughed more than should be allowed at work) and we busted out 2 really creative projects in record time. I can’t wait for you to see what we have in store for you (no timeline for release yet; we still need to release the Kristy episodes!). We also redesigned the set with fresh new colors, new shelving and even a new Soap Queen Sign. It’s the happiest set on earth. Really people, I’m pretty sure I smiled all day today! What do you think of the new color scheme?

The crew and I shot 3 face mask recipes and a new technique with Flexy Fast and mica brushing. I wish I could tell you more details but I don’t want to spoil the episode. You’ll just have to wait =)

Here, Have a Baby to Distract You

Normally, Thursday is the day that I always post my soapy tutorials. And, fear not, I have one for this week but I’m running behind for the day (Soap Queen TV shoots this weekend and we’re rebuilding the set right now) so, I’m hoping that the sight of a cute baby will distract you.

See! Distracted! You didn’t even notice that you were on a soap blog looking for a soap project, did you?

Jamisen is close to 15 pounds and is sooooo close to sitting up. We’re looking forward to seeing him hit this next milestone but until he does, check out his neck strength and adorable smile:

Jamisen Loves the Beach

I’ve always had a particular affinity for oceans. In fact, when I was little, I thought I would be a marine biologist (well, that or a pop star but marine biologist seemed slightly more realistic). We’re introducing Jaminsen to the ocean early.

We drove on the beach, we walked on the beach and then took Jamisen to his first sand castle competition. He adores walking in a stroller and just takes in all the sights, drooling, laughing, smiling and then zonking out. Come to think of it, that sounds like a pretty good time. I’ll take one of those, please.

Hats, Bats and Spiders

I loved what Soapylove did in her latest tutorial (check it out here), I thought I would revisit the technique with a ghoulish twist! I stuck with some basic molds and colors here but the potential to get insanely creative is up to you! I hope I get to see what some of you come up with. Hint. Wink. Nudge. With Halloween “creeping” up on us, I’ve been thinking I should get a head start on my Halloween gifts. These Caramel Apple Soaps look and smell delicious. I constantly say that I have the best friends in the world. The adorable baby hot tub above is just one more reason for me to love my friends. It was a super thoughtful gift from entrepreneur Bob Pritchett and his lovely wife Audra. Jamisen LOVES his bathtub and the unique shape lets him sit upright, leaving his hands free to play in the water.
