We’re making the big switch from 1 ounce bottles to 2 ounce bottles on Monday, June 6th. If you didn’t hear about the switch yet, catch up on the details here. The goal of the switch is to keep costs down for YOU as commodities costs continue to rise.

You’ll see the new 2 oz. size on the website on Monday (rather than the 1 oz. sizes that you’re used to seeing). Remember that you can always request a free 1/2 ounce sample in the NOTES section of your order form. If the fragrance is in stock and can be shipped via the method you specified when you checked out. And, we always have our popular SNIFFY sample program (details here).

This is a pilot program so we do want to get your feedback through the entire process – the good, the bad and the ugly.

Our new sizes will look like this, from left to right: 2 oz, 4 oz, 8 oz and 16oz.

I’ve got some exciting news! We’re making a couple changes at Bramble Berry to help keep costs as low as possible. As commodities costs continue to rise (has anyone seen the price of milk and cereal lately? Yowzers!), we’ve been putting our thinking caps on to keep prices reasonable for everyone. One of the solutions we came up with, with the help of a select group of customers and their awesome suggestions, is to do away with the smallest size of fragrance oil (our 1 oz. bottles) and instead do a starter size of 2 ounces. This lessens the amount of labor that has to go into each unit and helps us lessen damages in transit by moving towards more standardized sizing. You’ll see this change take effect in the next month or two. But we know that people like to try before they buy, so as always, you can request which free sample you’d like to get in your order (use the NOTES section right after your order) and we’ll do our best to include it (assuming it can be shipped via the method you chose and it’s in stock). We’re also adding some new sampler kits to our line to make sure that you can try even more fragrances before you buy. And don’t forget our ever-popular sniffy program (see details here) – you can sniff before you ever buy a fragrance!

Remember when I told you about our new warehouse last year? Here’s an update: It’s still in progress. Building the warehouse was the quickest part; now we have to get sprinklers for ALL of Bramble Berry’s original 13,000 square foot warehouse and we have many other equally important projects that need completed before we can move in. We’re bursting at the seams so it’s a little maddening to gaze into that big empty building (I know it doesn’t look like it, but that’s 2700 square feet of empty space with huge ceilings to allow for full pallet racking). But we will be moved in there soon (ish?).

Meanwhile, inside we are expanding into the offices in the front part of the building (that we used to rent out to another business). When I originally bought this building, I knew I wanted room for Bramble Berry to expand…and (thanks to you guys!) expanding we are!

Upstairs, we’re pulling down the ceiling and insulation so that the sprinklers can be installed. And look what we found? Miles and miles and miles of old telephone and data cables (anyone looking for extras?). It looks like a disaster right now but when it’s finished, we’ll be equipped to serve our customers better – which is the silver lining and the light at the end of the tunnel for me. Running this project and keeping boxes shipping, has been no easy feat (but rest assured, we like a challenge – bring on the orders!).
