These past two weeks have been a blur with taking care of a tiny, beautiful baby girl (who eats nearly every hour!) and watching as Jamisen adjusts to not being an only child (which he is doing surprisingly well). I still (barely) found the time to round up some favorite Pins, Vines and Tweets for you all to enjoy.
Pins of the Week:
(Beginning in the top left corner): Craving a little chocolate? Not only do these fudgesicles look delicious, they’re dairy and soy free too! Yummm.
Emily from Suds by the Sea is part of the next generation of soapers. She has been making her own cold process soap for the past 5 years (she’s only 15!) and uses the ocean shores near her North Carolina home as the inspiration for her small business. Way to go, Emily!
Good ethics are a cornerstone of good business. Treat employees ethically, source products ethically and always act with integrity!
These soap roses were too cute not to share! Best of all, they’re super easy to make.
I love the colors in this face & body soap. Reminds me of a relaxing day at the beach!
Never underestimate the power of a reliable messenger bag. The thing I love about this Molly bag is that it would look just as good carrying around gym clothes as it would during a trip to the grocery store. Versatility is key! Best of all, the making of this bag gives jobs to women who are otherwise unable to work. Do good and look good!
Vines of the Week:
This beautiful Peacock Swirl technique is for Soap Challenge Club held by our friend Amy over at Great Cakes Soapworks. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite coloring techniques. We also used this opportunity to test a new soaping tool we’re developing — keep your eyes peeled for more info!
I was super excited to see how this looked once it was cut, and I love how it turned out! I had a very special guest help me with this one =)
Tweets of the Week:
- It’s common for babies in Finland to sleep in a cardboard box given to mothers by the Finnish government. Read a little further though and you’ll find that the maternity box (coupled with a few other factors), has actually helped lower infant mortality rates since the program began!
- Think twice before eating that McDonalds breakfast. High fat, high carb fast food meals can harm those friendly little microbes in our bellies, which may be more important than we think.
- If you’re thinking of selling your handmade goodies at a craft show, check out this very helpful blog post.
It’s finally starting to feel like summer around here, so it might be time for Lily’s first trip to the beach. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
