June 2011

I was remiss in telling you that Cookie was Jamisen’s first dog that he has met. And, I have unfortunately offended my dear niece doggie Samantha who met Jamisen at least 1 week before Cookie did. Whoops! Can I blame my slip on lack of sleep?

June 2011

Samantha and Toby were so sweet and kind to Jamisen. To tell the truth, they weren’t that impressed with him. I think Samantha probably thought “What’s so impressive about this hairless creature? What’s all the fuss about?!” Toby’s thought process probably went like this “Lake lake grass grass white hairless thing stick stick lake lake grass grass run run lake lake.” As evidenced by the first photo, he had zero interest in Jamisen. That was the best photo we had of Toby and Jamisen – one of Toby’s rump!

We played catch with the dogs at Lake Samish (one of Erik’s fishing haunts). The view from the boat dock turned out really nice. I especially like this photos because it shows us being active, having fun which is something our family seems to excel at (for which I am so thankful).

I love the way the sun is shining down into the camera frame for this photo. Erik, my brother, isn’t a big fan of smiling in photos so this photo is particularly happy for me.

Jamisen is eating his Dad’s hair. Thankfully, he didn’t have any styling products in because those wouldn’t taste delicious.

Me ‘n’ Jamisen on the lawn. Again, I like how the sun is shining through.

And before I end the weekend update, this cow toy is from the generous Kristy Schemrich of Kristy’s Lovely Lathers  who brought a whole host of goodies out when she came out for the 2011 Soap Weekend Intensive (if you like Goatsmilk Soap, you simply MUST check out her shop here and if you’d like to sign up for the 2012 session of SWI, you can reserve your spot here). My Dad thinks that it sounds like the low pitch of a child crying to Jamisen and thus the pouty lower lip. I think his little lower lip is adorable and since he was smiling within 3 seconds after the camera was turned off, think the video is adorable too.

Okay, I lied. One more baby video of Daddy reading to him:

  1. Jamisen keeps getting cuter (if that is possible)! Thanks so much for sharing. My daughter does not want children 🙁 so I am living vicariously through your experiences.

    1. Aw, maybe she will change her mind. I never wanted children either. And then, I met Chris and boom! I wanted kids from that first date onwards. (really)

I can hear Jamisen gurgling in the other room (nanny is here) and it makes me smile.

  2. God I just miss those days. the lip pucker is by far one of the cutest thing any baby does!! I love the reaction he gives to books. the pic of him eating his dad’s hair is awesome.

thanks for sharing with us. It never gets old!

  3. Anne-Marie gets inside the mind of a dog…LOL! That was very cute your telling us what Toby was thinking.

Jamisen is so very darling he almost makes me want a new baby…*almost*! Many years from now, he’s going to look at the video of you playing the cow toy and wonder why you kept tormenting him. ;D

    1. Oh, I quit right away as soon as I could see he wasn’t happy but he’ll eventually find it interesting, I’m sure of it =) He’s such a sweetie. I love showing him new toys. Normally, it goes over really well!

  4. Oh no! I made him cry! He might like it when he’s a little older. The bottom video is so precious!

    1. He will love it when he’s older. He thought it was funny at first and then the lower lip started and it was so sweetly sad. It was very much an ‘Awwwww’ moment.

  5. I love the face he’s making while eating your husbands hair. And the dogs! Seems like they were gentle with him. Good dogs!

    1. My brother’s dogs are super sweet; just little lovers. But I know they’re still unpredictable animals so I’m careful with the baby around them just to be on the safe side =)
