An excerpt from the article:

Brian Morris, the owner of We Fix Ugly Pools, a pool repair and construction company in Phoenix, wrapped more than 30 vehicles in his fleet in ads for his company. He monitors how customers find him, and attributes more than $1 million in revenue over the last year to people seeing one of his trucks in a driveway.

  1. I am the company that is featured in this article (Brina Morris, THE Ugly Pool Guy) and I am here to tell you that this article came out in 2007 and I have not changed my business practices yet. We have cut all different forms of advertising, but feel that the vehicle wraps are the most important part of our brand awareness and customer drive.

    When doing a wrap remember the following:

    1) Keep the message concise. DONT CONFUSE THE READER with lots of graphics.
    2) Make the website memorable
    3) A LARGE PHONE NUMBER always works!

    I wonder if getting moving billboards on my car is more important than worrying about the fact that my actual car isn’t the best, nicest or most well kept one on the street?

  4. This article reminds me of a company whose owners disagreed for over 5 years on what the vehicle signage should be on their delivery truck. As a result of their inaction, they went that entire time without the benefit of having a moving billboard promoting their business on every delivery.

  5. I just went out to dinner with a Elizabeth from Treasury of Memories, a local crafting and hobby store owner. She just purchased one of those huge vinyl letter machines for her shop and she’s putting out cool lettering that sticks to walls, cars and windows. I can’t wait to see if she can do something with the Otion logo!

  6. I’ve seen those decals like they have for colleges that stick in the back window (and are removable). Apparently they sell those at computer supply stores so that one could print their own. Thats worth a try too 🙂 I’m totally on a brainstorm with this one. LOL I love how you always plant the seed Anne-Marie. I have such a hard time being creative lately so you really really help!!

  7. If I drove a slightly nicer car (I’m a big believer in driving the same car for a minimum of 10 years so I’ve got a just-fine-for-me model but not so good for advertising), I might consider a larger wrap-around idea for my car too. Maybe in a few years =)
