This is what the crafty artist says about this cupcake design on the Craftster Forum:

3 days, 3 pounds of white sprinkles, 3 pounds of butter, 1 pound flour, 2 pounds powdered sugar, 1 pound sugar, 110 green cupcake foils, 10 bento (lunch) boxes, 10 chopsticks later, 1 bag gummy worms, and 1 bag gummy fish later

  1. I had seen fake sushi done with round cut rice crispie treats wrapped in fruit roll ups with swedish fish on top, but I *love* these cupcakes.

  2. PS – Yes, I really want to see a photo when you make your sushi soaps!

  3. Eat Well, I was 100% vegetarian until I was about 30. Then, I read the book “Real Food” AND “The Ominvore’s Dilemma” in one month and started trying to eat fish 2 times a week. Unfortunately, I don’t actually like fish so I can only eat Halibut, Tuna and Smoked Salmon. I definitely eat eggs and cheese and all of that. I couldn’t ever be a straight vegan either! =)

So, maybe I should refer to myself as a “Massively Picky Eater that’s Mostly a Vegetarian but Eats Fish for the Omega Fatty III Acids”?

  4. She did package it in a beautiful way!

I will admit to you that I have been hoarding take-out sushi containers for a long time now in hopes of making sushi candles, but now that I’ve got the boys interested in soap-making, I’ll save those containers for sushi soaps instead.

I ordered your flexi pan (that you use to make the jellyroll soaps) to try to make the sushi soaps. If all goes well, I’ll post a pic for you! It may take a few unsuccessful runs but I’m eager to try it.

So you’re not a fish vegetarian? I don’t know that I can give up fish or eggs, so I’ll never be a vegan.

  5. Those look yummy! I have made sushi treats for my kids to take to school using rice crispies, marshmallows, fruit roll ups, & gummy worms. They are always a big hit.

  6. I just think it’s so incredibly creative the way she packaged it and worked to ensure it looked realistic. I’m a fan of the fake sushi look too – though, given that I’m a mostly vegetarian, I’m not sure why the strange attraction – but I love faux sushi soaps even better than these cupcakes (which is definitely saying something).

  7. I just adore faux sushi stuff (and love the real sushi stuff…LOL!). I’m a sucker for plastic sushi toys, sushi candles, sushi soaps (it’s on my to-do list to make sushi soaps), etc.
