Debbie, from SoapyLove, was our inspiration for creating a plaid soap of our own. You may have seen Debbie’s cute plaid soaps here(and below). In her honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we’ve created a fun March soap project using Soapy Love as our inspiration. We will be posting the green tutorial tomorrow so stay tuned! However, it’s a “need to see it to believe it” technique so we hope you can join Debbie at the 2nd Annual Soap Weekend Intensive in Bellingham, Washington July 17-19. For those of you that don’t know, Debbie is the instigator of the Soapsicle trend currently sweeping the ‘net and has a book coming out this fall on melt and pour techniques and tricks.

I can't wait to see your tutorial! I've always wondered how Debbie made those amazing soaps. I can experiment with cp pretty well, but m&p is a different story. I'm a huge fan of plaid so I might have to carve out some time to give this a try =)
katwoman – I think we’re about the same age, then! Maybe we’ll both be rockin’ plain bermudas this summer! LOL!
Bridgette, If the soaps are kept in an airtight container, they should last at least 3 years. If you leave them out, they tend to dry up and become less easy to craft with. I have used melt and pour soap that was over 9 years old without any trouble. =)

Thanks for your comment! I am lucky enough to say I’ve been to Chennai and I totally respect the new names.
However, being a child of the 80’s, I was inspired by the old Madras Bermudas. Do you remember those? I actually saw some great new ones in Target that I’m definitely going to buy! 🙂

The colors are soft and feminine

I was just saying how Soapylove's Alien soap was one of my all time favorite designs, needless to say the plaid is right up there. Debbie, you are and always will be the Soapsicle Queen but you have many other creative M&P soap inventions (the Alien and Plaid soaps just to mention two more). Your students are so lucky!
