Ingredients
2.5 oz – 3 oz. Dead Sea Salt (fine grained or medium)
2 Tbsp. Purple Jojoba Beads
1 oz. Golden Jojoba Oil
1 oz. Sweet Almond Oil
2 drops Vitamin E Oil
2-3 drops Vanilla Select Fragrance Oil
2-3 drops Peppermint Essential Oil (2nd distill)
4 oz tin or container
Step 1: Mix all ingredients together and package it in a cute container (we used a 4 oz tin). Really, that’s all you do! Remember that you can use any fragrance oil combination that you want. I’m partial to our creation though. It’s minty, sweet and refreshing.

It’s minty, sweet and refreshing.Directions: After soaking feet in the Fizzy Foot Soak, rub a generous amount of the sea salt scrub on your feet and ankles (or your Mom’s feet!). Apply more pressure for a deeper exfoliation. The smaller grain provides an even, smooth exfoliation and the medium grain salt is a rougher, shorter scrub. Rinse off with hot water. Pat dry. Hold tight and wait for tomorrow’s recipe on making a foot balm.

what type of suagr would you suggest if wanting to make a sugar scrub? thick grain and how to prevent it from melting

We typically use granulated white sugar in our sugar recipes, but you can use whatever kind you’d like in your recipe. Adding the oils to the sugar isn’t actually going to melt the sugar, but if you are wanting more of a exfoliating feel, I’d go with a higher grain.

What about the need of a preservative? I’m concerned about water introduced accidentally and those nasties starting their little war-dance on my salt scrubs. My main worry is about gift giving or maybe someday (yikes) for sales… Thanks =)

If you are concerned about mold, you can use Optiphen or Phenonip at .5% by weight. You never know what a consumer is going to do with your product, so being extra cautious isn’t a bad thing! =)

what is the shelf life for using sugar or salt? and what preservative would you recommend. thanks.
Hi Kay! What we suggest is storing the salt soak in a cool dry place and using it within a year! Any sugar scrub would be the same amount of time!

Would I be able to use LaBomb colors in this instead of Jojoba beads?
Definitely! The jojoba beads are in there for scrubbiness and for color but the salt will take care of the scrubbiness for you =)

So would this recipe work as a sugar (body) scrub if I just substituted sugar for salt (and maybe no jojoba beads, just some color lab/powder added)? It seems from my research that most sugar scrubs are just some combination of oils and sugar…I love this foot scrub and it seems like I could make it into a body scrub just by adding sugar for salt.
Definitely. Sugar is a great exfoliant and a great replacement if you don’t want to use the salt. You can totally make changes to this recipe to make it your own =)

The jojoba beads were mostly for color and interest so yes, purple labcolor would be fine and you could not put any jojoba beads in there or you could also try something else like crushed walnut seeds or apricot seed powder. But the salt is just fine all by itself.
I decided to make this as a last minute gift for my children’s teachers. However, I do not have the jojoba beads (and can’t get them before school ends). Can I substitute something else? Also could I add a few drops of purple labcolor?
