I bought some amazing products today, all made by small handmade businesses across the United States:
Lip balms by ‘Give Me Lip’ – I just loved the dual colored look of her lip balms and purchased Vanilla Chocolate Donut and Cherry Vanilla Cupcake. My lips will be tasting sweet when I get these yummy creations.
Soap by Kristy’s Lovely Lathers – The designs intrigued me. It takes real talent to get swirls and artistry on cold process soap and I can’t wait to try my Fizzy Pop, Lavender Hugs, Love Note and Star Mint soaps.
Toiletries by Daileys – My secret shame is that I’ve never tried tooth powder or just tooth soap. I am going to remedy this with Dailey’s Tooth Powder (and I got some of their all natural deoderant to try since mine never did work).

It’s been a while since I got an Etsy soap fix and I was delighted to see Sweet Anthem on the home page! You may remember I blogged about Sweet Anthem after meeting her in person at Sweet Petula in Seattle.

Now, I just have to stay patient enough for all my goodies to arrive.

  4. Sorry! I just got home and made my husband dinner and now to work some more…

yes, Anne-Marie! that is the mold. I had some luck with the stars but am not sure how to get the red lines.

Wow, your pic looks great! it looks like it has a clear undercoat. but then how did you do that?

  5. Those are some great finds 😀 Let us know how the deodorant works! I'm working on perfecting my recipe. Mine works great, but melts in warm weather 😛

I tried to swirl my cp soap like that too, but I have a lot more practicing to do!!

    Thanks for sharing 😀

  6. can i ask an emergency question.

after 3 attempts and another batch in the freezer i am getting discouraged with my American Flag Soap. My hands are shaking and not holding straight while I am trying to use a dropper to put the red lines on the flag with BB's non bleeding mica mixed with clear soap. I got the little blue stars but the straight lines are making me C R A Z Y….

i have tried putting the red lines in before pouring and i have tried putting them on top of the released soap after popping out of mold and both are equally not acceptable. my husband said, just sell it half price. and i rejected that idea…

not having any paints, is there an emergency fix for red soap paint? I have micas, FC&C red, candle color chips, lipstick :), glycerin, alcohol.

what could i use in a pinch?
    help, somebody!

  7. wow. that pink and red heart soap is to die for….could that really be cold processed? no way! how smoooth is that!

btw, i love love BB's lavender swirl cp loaf! I am so excited to have it at my party thursday. i hope that soon i can produce something so beautiful.

i would pay just about any amount of money to learn the swirl technique. i wonder if i could practice and then if it didn't turn out make some kind of brown soap or black soap…i can only imagine how many tries it will take to get it right. 🙂

i am thinking about just taking the whole loaf to the party and slicing it there; displaying it on a bread board and then slicing it as people ooh and aah and then ask for some…

and in the meantime i probably will not get any sleep between now and thursday so we might as well hit starbucko's tonight and get some clover….:)

  8. I'll bet 95% of America has never heard of using anything but toothpaste on their teeth!
