Here are photos of just a few of the fun things we got done in our class day. The fantastic ELF Industrial Pumpkin Mold (made with Orange Mica and Copper Sparkle, colored in with Non-Bleeding, liquid black iron oxide colored clear soap and a stem made of Super Green Mica).

Fun Pumpkin cut outs made with the Silhouette (Cameo) SoapyLove technique using Non-Bleeding Liquid Black Oxide and Orange Labcolor.

One thing Michelle really wanted to learn was the so-cool-it-should-be-patented Plaid Soap concept that was taught this year at the Otion Soap Weekend Intensive. One thing I love about the project is how complicated the project looks when it’s done but how easy the project is once you understand the technique and pattern. You can learn how to make the same soap from the comfort of your own home with the video or the video + the kit here.
We also made many batches (many many many!) of bath fizzies, lip tints and lipsticks and cupcake Silhouette Soaps. When it was all said and done, we were all thrilled about how Kaolin Clay helped to keep the humidity warts away in the bath fizzies and Michelle was happily stunned by how easy it was to make lip tints. If you’re unsure about how to make your own lipsticks, lip balms and lip tints, we have a Video tutorial here, a kit here & blog tutorials (here, here, here, here, and here.

The day went entirely too quickly and I was sad when it ended. We made lots of great goodies and it was a day well spent.

  1. thanks for the drying chamber tip Anne-Marie, i will try that in the summertime…combat the humidity:)

  2. A drying chamber is just a sealed container with those silicone drying packets that come in tennis shoes when you buy them for the first time? This product sucks all the moisture out of the air so you can let your bath bombs harden in peace and dry quiet if you're in a really humid area.

    =)

  3. What fun! It would be such an awesome trip to come up for a day of play (classes)

  4. OMG i would one day love to do this my self!! Until them please keep blogging and making the videos!!! I love them!!

And looks like you both had a ball!!

  5. Hey Anne-Marie

Only discovered your videos this week and I love them. You are awesome.

i have nominated you for a blog award. Please check it out on my blog.

  6. I am so jealous. I have been saving for a trip out to Otion. Its the cost of flying in from the East Coast which is killing me.

  7. Doing something like this is on my life-wish-list, although my brain would probably explode from having to take in all that information in one day…LOL!
