I’ve always had a close relationship with my Dad and tell him I love him at every opportunity I get. I know that I’m lucky to have a close-knit family and I don’t take it for granted. Despite being a busy physician, he’s always taken every opportunity to support me in my various entrepreneurial endeavors, usually driving 4 hours one way to do so! Early on into my Soapmaking obsession, he and I would even make soap together. This photo is one of my less proud moments in hairstyles but still a loving memory. My Dad and I recreated the ‘Last Supper’ painting out of soap. That took a lot of precision work and he and I laugh about it to this day. Oh, and yes, that is the Baby Jesus, in a manger that my Dad is holding. We went all out on the historical religious theme out of soap and made a full nativity set that day as well (out of soap, naturally!).

In case you missed any of the Father’s Day Projects, here they are in order:
Day One: Army Soap
Day Three: Shaving Soap
Day Five: Stay Tuned for Day Five (hint: it’s NOT soap!)

  1. Awwww, thanks. My Dad is totally the greatest. I am so so so lucky to have been born into the family I was born into and feel lucky and blessed daily for it.

  2. Thanks! I wore it short and spiky for about two-three years, right after I became a correctional officer.

  3. Anne-Marie, That really touched my heart and made my eyes all misty… I was a Daddy’s girl too. What a precious picture of you two. I know he loves you so much; and besides that, I really like your “punked out” do!

  4. That’s so sweet! And, I love your hair like that (not that it isn’t beautiful the way it is). You remind me of an old BFF of mine, who wears her hair sort of like that.
