Hi Team Soap Queen,

We’re pulling together a Bramble Berry fragrances soap swap. We’re still getting the groups together so we’re not sure if it will be 12 or 15 soaps or something in between but if you’re interested, we’d love to have you on board! If you’re up for it, email us Amy(at)BrambleBerry(dot)com with your name, address and what you make (CP or MP) and the fragrance you’re going to do and she’s organizing everyone into groups.

1. Everyone makes 12 bars of the their choice of Fragrance Oil (Bramble Berry)
2. You make the same fragrance for your entire batch
3. You label everything as if you were selling it.
4. Bars must be 3.5 oz. or above
5. Deadline for getting bars to Bramble Berry would be December 4th.
6. Bramble Berry sorts and sends all the swap boxes out by December 15th
7. We’ll use Flat Rate boxes so shipping will end up around $9’ish, I’m thinking. I’ll know for certain when we know if it’s 12, 13, 14 or 15 soaps. =)

This is a great way to get to know your fellow Soap Queen’ers better and also sniff many of the Bramble Berry fragrances at one time.

Questions? Just ask! =)

  1. Not doing something right. Maybe I oversprayed with the alcahol to remove bubbles. Did two batches of soap yesterday. Love both, but know they could have been done so much better. Just getting started and finally got to use the supplies sent to me in March. Gift from my brother. Will review your techniques again.

  2. I am so in…Got my products ordered and they will be in Thursday!! Cant wait to start playing!!

  3. Yes! So excited – we have at least 6 groups of 12 right now and we’re just putting the finishing touches on the Melt and pour and CP and CP/MP mixed groups. We’re working on a blog post now =)

  4. Yes! Definitely. The more, the merrier. And this is a great way for you to learn about other types of soaps and techniques too.

  5. I’m a new soaper. Can I still play with you experienced creative soapers? I would love to try your soaps!! And by the way, my favorite part of getting a shipment….is opening the box and fragrance that pours out!! I love your company!

  6. You’ll get 1 bar of soap from people that we put into your group. It’s an arbitrary grouping by us but you’ll get the same amount of soap that you send (so if we have you send 12 bars, you’ll get 12 assorted bars in return). =)

  7. This sounds sooo fun. Forgive my naive’ness but, how will this exactly work. This will be my VERY FIRST TIME doing ANYTHING like this. Will everyone be getting 1 bar of soap from every participant?

  8. I love this idea! Unfortunately, I’m still pretty new to the soap-making game in general. Do you think you’ll make this an annual (or even semi-annual) event, so I can participate when my skills are a little more up to par?

  9. Amy’s email is in the first paragraph but you can always email info(at)brambleberry(dot)com =)

  10. What if I use multiple fragrances when making 1 kind of soap? Is that ok or do I have to only use 1 Bramble Berry fragrance?

  11. No worries about the Limited Edition thing. You’re right – hopefully that will help sales =)) Can’t wait to see what you submit.

  12. What a lovely idea! Living on the other side of the pond, I’ll be taking part in heart and Spirit only :(, but I’ll let ya know my favorite BB fragrance anyway…I love love love and can’t get enough of Vanilla Sandalwood. No other soap fragrance company has been able to even come close to yours! Cheers for that!

  13. I’ve already e-mailed Amy, and can’t wait!!! The only bummer is that the fragrance I’m using is on the Limited Edition page… maybe this will make it a little more popular so I can keep it around! It’s been a HUGE customer favorite in everything I’ve made!

Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with for the swap!! What a GREAT idea!!!! =oD

  14. Just tell us what they are and we’ll make sure your box doesn’t have those two =)

  15. I’d like to play but I have 2 scents that I know of that spike migraines in me. Can we omit those, or should I just bag out?

  16. I like where you’re going with that but also want to give everyone some freedom to really create something they love AND want to take into account that some people will just pull stock from their actual regular stock rather than making a new batch just for this. I’ll be sure to suggest the fragrance rates in the email we send out to people though …

  17. Great! I cannot wait – this is going to be really fun. I wonder – should we have a standard of fragrance usage for the soaps having a similar intensity of smell? That would also give others idea of what the baseline to expect of a fragrance’s performance at .5 PPO or .75 PPO etc . . . Thoughts?
