After making my poor family and friends wait for a full extra week so I could tell my folks in person, we’re ready to share our little Bramble Bump news with the world. 2800 of you voted in the poll – as of this morning, the votes give a little girl the edge. Were you right?
Now can you guess? |
Of course, we used cupcakes to tell them about the baby – Vanilla Peppermint Cupcakes filled with a white chocolate ganache. They were INSANE sweet but yes, I will definitely be sharing that recipe (right after I share the Key Lime Cupcakes from last week). The color of the ganache was the sex of the baby. Yes, we are officially having a BOY! The entire family is thrilled, tears were shed (of happiness!) and now the fun begins – decorating the nursery, my new (large) baby office and choosing a name!
Blue Cupcake for BOY! |
Erik (my younger brother) made the Onesie mold just for my baby gender announcement but when we saw how cute they turned out, I had him whip up a bunch more just for you. You can buy the soap mold here. The technique to make the dual colored Onesies is just like the technique in this Gingerbread Man tutorial.

Congrats. I guessed correctly – I am a mother of identical twin boys. It’s all I know! It will be fun to be on this journey with you.

Just read your blog; hilarious title. Good luck on your goals. Is it bad that I will try my hardest to design the cutest projects ever to tempt you? :))

Joanna says
Boys are yummy. Congratulations!!!!

I kind of thought you were having a boy because your face wasn’t changing at all. “They” say that girls steal your beauty when you carry them. There is always a saying, ya know?
When I look back at my pregnancy, I definitely had a fatter face with my daughter than with my son. My face didn’t change with my son until the last 2-3 weeks (when it was 100 degrees in August and I was really, really pregnant and and retaining some water).

Ahhh! I guessed correctly too! I could totally see a little Chris in there. 😉 So happy for you guys!
Zjacquelyn says
Congrats to you and hubby!

Congrats Anne-Marie! I voted boy 🙂 I guess I had a bit of experience with the boy thing though! Now you can start looking at tonka trucks and dinosaurs instead of cupcakes and barbies 🙂

Okay, I have five boys, four living one angel and I have to say…YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE SO MUCH FUN!!!!! I don’t know from girls, but I was a moody pain. My boys 6-13, all with special needs, but not so bad, are the joy of my life. Just don’t remember life before my boys. I take care of me, time for me, but I’m available to them all day and they are all different. I thought I had it down after number one. Nope, the rest have their own books and I never got copies. They make bad poop jokes, think it’s hysterical when dad passes gas and giggle at things I would turn my nose at. I’m a girly girl and they brought out my tomboy and I’m fun, don’t care about dirt and just embrace frosting covered kids. A boy is fantastic. A boy is snakes and snails and toads in their pockets (seriously, as soon as he can walk, start checking pockets). I am so happy for you. It almost made me want another one, but Um….I think back to preemies (I go early, so go overdue) and I think at almost 47, I’m done. No miracles here. I’ll wait for Grands. Congratulations. How much fun your life is going to be, how much joy. I am so jealous.

Congratulations, Anne-Marie! As the mom of two boys, I can say that you are in for a wild ride! Enjoy every moment, because before you know it, they’ll be all grown up.
Boys rock! 🙂
Anne-Marie says
My parents were soooooo excited to eat those cupcakes. I made them wait for after dinner and a full coffee service. They ALL guessed boy.
Anne-Marie says
LOL! Now that I know I’m having a boy, I’m already wondering the same thing! It must be a protective or evolutionary mechanism.
Anne-Marie says
Oh fun! I couldn’t handle the surprise concept so we found out even earlier than we were due to find out (at week 17) because I’m such a planner. =) Best of luck for a short and easy labor =)
Anne-Marie says
I know we want two so we’ll just see if the Baby Gods have me down for a Boy and a Girl or a Boy and a Boy. =)
Anne-Marie says
I voted for girl too! =) But I am thrilled with a little boy. I can’t wait to meet him.
Anne-Marie says
My brother was pretty certain as well.
Anne-Marie says
Ha ha, that’s funny! I didn’t! LOL!
Anne-Marie says
We are so excited and now that we’re half way there. I’m just starting my 19th week, one week to go to month five!
Anne-Marie says
Hm, that’s interesting! You’re like the baby whisperer guesser! =)
Anne-Marie says
I was expecting a girl too. =) Congrats on your baby girl. May your labor be four hours or less and no tearing! =)
Anne-Marie says
I can’t wait! Thank goodness I’ve been blessed with energy but I have a feeling it will be nothing compared to the energy of a young little boy! LOL!
Anne-Marie says
Good job =)
F4mlatir says
I guessed correctly
Terri Olson says
I voted ‘boy’ ‘cuz I’ve got a 7 yo & a 4 yo!!! Ready, set, GO!! They never stop! Congrats to you & your family!
Merryn Oliveira says
Congragulations! Boys are so much fun – but I didn’t guess correctly – but I think that’s because I’m expecing a girl in a few weeks and I’m biased with what’s inside me, not the prescious 4 year old boy who keeps me busy.
Kymbearlii says
cool, i was riGht! so far each time ive guessed the sex of someones baby ive been right 🙂
Spikensooz says
As I thought! Hope your new little boy brings you as much as joy as my two (now adult, but still my babies) have brought me.
