UPDATE: The Fall 2016 Soap Swap is NOW FULL, and registration is closed. Thanks to everybody who signed up, we can’t wait to see your soap! For those we were not able to join this swap, we will have another next year. Sign up for the Bramble Berry newsletter; we give our newsletter subscribers an advance notice on when the swap will take place!

Fall2016SoapSwap

It’s time for another cold process soap swap! Unfamiliar with Bramble Berry’s soap swaps? The basic idea of the swap is you create ten 4 ounce bars of cold process soap made with a Bramble Berry fragrance oil. Then, send us your soap. We swap all the bars and send ten new bars back to you, each made by a different soaper. The swap itself is free; the only thing you pay for is shipping to get your box of unique soaps back to your doorstep.

The swap is a fun way to get your hands on soap from other crafters. It allows you to smell new fragrance oils and see new techniques and packaging ideas. Nobody appreciates handmade soap quite like a soaper, so it’s fun to see what your fellow soapers are making. In the spring swap, I joined the fun and sent out ten bars and received a swap package. Want to see what was in my box? Check out my unboxing video here! This year I will be participating again, and will unbox my soaps live on Facebook. =)

SwapBox

Want to participate? The registration for the swap is NOW OPEN! The Fall 2016 Soap Swap is limited to 100 soapers. Of course we wish we could include everybody, but swapping and organizing all those boxes takes a lot of time.

How to Sign up

1. To sign up, first pay for the return shipping of your soap by purchasing the ‘Magical Soap Swap Express’ on the Bramble Berry website. Once all the spots are full, the shipping will no longer be available for purchase. You must first pay for the swap to officially reserve your spot. You will receive an email that confirms your payment.

2. Then, fill out this Google form completely, including the fragrance oil you would like to use. You must use a fragrance oil that Bramble Berry currently sells. Find the fragrance oils here. Because somebody may have already chosen your top fragrance choice, please include another fragrance oil selection as a backup. Click here to fill out your entry form!

3. Once you have bought your return shipping and have filled out this form completely, you’re officially part of the swap! You will then receive an email within 24 hours with more information.

Rules and Fine Print

1. Unfortunately, this swap is not open to international residents. If you live in Hawaii or Alaska, you can enter the Soap Swap with an additional shipping fee.

2. Your soap must arrive to us by Monday, September 19th. Please plan in advance to make sure your soaps arrive to our warehouse by that date. If they do not, we cannot guarantee a place in the swap. You can send boxes to:

Bramble Berry Inc.
C/O Soap Swap
2138 Humboldt Street
Bellingham, WA 98225

3. You need to produce ten 4 oz. cold process or hot process bars. It’s no fun sending full-sized bars and getting tiny ones in return. Every bar needs to be made of the same fragrance oil of your choice. There is no melt and pour soap option for this swap.

4. You must select a fragrance oil that Bramble Berry currently sells. Find the fragrance oils here. Essential oils are not an option in this swap.

5. Your soap needs to be labeled with all ingredients and fragrance used. Include contact info along with your soap on the packaging. This will help soapers who receive your soap to order from you in the future, or ask questions. Social media info is wonderful as well! Anne-Marie will be showcasing ten lucky soapers, so don’t miss out on the great marketing opportunity.

6. Each person is only allowed to “buy” one swap box. We want as many people as possible to be able to participate. =)

7. We will ship out boxes on Monday, September 26th.

If you don’t make it into this swap, we will have another swap next year! We hope to also offer a melt and pour swap in the future. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter; we give our newsletter subscribers an advance notice on when the swap will take place!

We can’t wait to see your soaps. Feel free to share your creations on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the tag #BBSoapSwap. =)

  1. When something this exciting comes around, you cant miss it! Well you cant please everyone! I dont know why people are having repeated issues getting newsletters or notifications for this. I got mines DAYS in advance and set up my phone, calendar etc… then the day before I believe we got another email than the day off etc… Bramble Berry is good with keeping us in communication. Maybe people dont want to accept responsibility. This is my second time doing this and i havent had no issues. I have the Bramble Berry app too which keeps me up to date on stuff and soap queen! Maybe the need to check their time zones too.. these problems are usually user related and not BB! This one didnt even full up as fast as the last one. The last one I remember it closed the same day! Whoever is sore they didnt get in can swap soaps with me if they want!!! =D

    1. Thank you so much for participating Vanessa! We can’t wait to see your soaps. 🙂

      -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

  2. I’m so excited! I’ve only been soaping for about a year and never knew this even existed until I received my newsletter. Marked my work calendar and even set an alarm on my phone! ????????

    1. It’s going to be so much fun Essie! Can’t wait to see your soap. 🙂

      -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

  3. I think I was actually one of the first to get in. I’d seen it before and was really excited, but I’m a speech pathologist and I’m with patients all day long. What I did was saved my payment information in the secure account with Brambleberry because I didn’t want to worry about typing in all the payment information. Then, I entrusted my user name and password to my daughter who was home from college so she signed on about an hour before time and waited. She would have purchased for me, but about 5 minutes till my patient cancelled so my daughter logged “me” out and then I logged back in and was able to purchase for myself.

    1. That’s awesome Jenna! The swap is such a blast, you’re going to love it. 🙂

      -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

    1. Hi Maureen!

I’m sorry you’re disappointed. We sent out a newsletter with Soap Swap information about a week before sign ups. That had the date and time it would open. Then, we posted that on Facebook and here on the blog. The good news is we’ll be having more swaps in the future! I would recommend signing up for our newsletter. It will have swap information ahead of time so you can mark your calendar. 🙂

  4. Why not just open up more spots for those of us who have commented? I don’t have time to check my email every 30 minutes, so by the time I was home for the evening, fixed dinner and got kids to bed, I was too late! This is now the 3rd time that has happened to me, and obviously others as well. I realize it’s hard to organize, but how many people are even allowed to participate?

    1. 100 people participate each time. BB sends out a newsletter with the exact time and date of the soap swap a few days before it actually begins. People who really want to get in mark their calendars and buy a pass as soon as it’s up on the website.

    2. Hi LuAnn!

This swap has 100 participants. In the past, we have done bigger swaps with more than 200 people. With the larger swaps we were making mistakes and weren’t entirely happy with the way things went. Some people were getting their own bars back, or several from one person. When we switched to 100 participants, we found things went more smoothly and there were fewer mistakes.

We will have more swaps in the future you can sign up for! We send out a newsletter about a week in advance with the date and time of the swap. Then, we post that sign up on Facebook and our blog. They do fill up fairly quick, so I would recommend signing up for the newsletter. That way you can mark your calendar with the date and time it opens. 🙂

      Newsletter sign up: https://www.facebook.com/BrambleBerry/app/100265896690345/

I hope that helps! If you have any other questions please let me know.

      -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

  5. I live on the East coast and didn’t get notifications until 1AM on the 4th. I see people’s post at 12/1 pm on the 3rd. Is there some sort of delay? How do I get there earlier?

      1. I’m sorry about that Jen and Jerri! We sent a newsletter to let everyone know about the swap on July 28th. (If you’re not signed up for the newsletter you can do so here: https://www.facebook.com/BrambleBerry/app/100265896690345/?ref=page_internal)

Then, the blog post went up at noon PST and the swap filled up in about an hour and a half. We may have some cancellations though! I will check and email you both if there are any openings. 🙂

        -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

  6. Full already! Good grief, I was mulling over which fragrances to choose, checked what I had and when I sat down again to sign up it was full! Next time I’ll have to be quicker 🙂

    1. It filled up quickly this year for sure! I’ll email you if any spots open Margaret. 🙂

      -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

  7. Oh, no, I just saw this! I get the newsletter but somehow missed the notice about this. 🙁

    1. Wait, I just checked, but don’t see any newsletters since 6/30. Was it announced? Thanks.

      1. It was announced in the newsletter sent 7/28. I know from past experience, I need to put it into my work calendar so I can make sure I’m on my lunch break to get signed up. It fills up in a matter of moments!

        1. I’m sorry about that Martina! We announced the swap last week in a newsletter. It was sent out July 28th. I did check your account and you are signed up for our newsletter. I would recommend checking your spam filter to see if it’s in there! I will also let you know if there are any openings. 🙂

          -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

          1. Thanks. I just checked my spam too, but it’s not there either. I don’t know how I didn’t get that email at all. Last thing I got from you was 6/30.

          2. Hmm, that’s strange. I unsubscribed and resubscribed you to the newsletter to see if that helps. We will have another one coming out next week. If you don’t get that one by next Friday, let me know!

            -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

    1. Definitely! We will email you if there are any openings. 🙂

      -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

  8. OMGosh I made it in time! So excited!!! This will be my first soap swap and I’m super excited!

    1. I’m sorry about that Aileen! I’m going to check our list to see if there are any openings and email you if that’s the case.

      -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

    1. The spots are full already Karen. I’m sorry about that! I’ll check our list to see if there are any cancellations and email you if that’s the case. 🙂

      -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

  9. First – thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity!
I just purchased the return shipping and completed the form.
While I am an international customer, I do have a physical address in the USA, and I added a note to my purchase about it.
I really hope it is ok with you?

    I can’t wait to participate!

    1. As long as we can ship to a U.S. address that should be just fine! Thanks so much for signing up Adi. 🙂

      -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

  10. I’m in! Wohoo! 🙂 I’m moving from one city to another, would it be possible to update you with the new address closer to the end of September? Thanks!

    1. Yay, so exciting! And yep, that is possible. Just email swap(at)brambleberry(dot)com once you have your new address. 🙂

      -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

  11. I don’t know why but I always have problems accessing these forms/links that you guys use. I will have to try again later…..

    1. Sorry about that Michael! What error message is it giving you?

      -Kelsey with Bramble Berry

      1. I get a message saying the site can’t provide a secure connection. I’ll have to try from a different computer later. Thanks.
