Last Saturday, the Bramble Berry team participated in the 2015 Muds to Suds race. This 5K race includes more thanĀ 25 obstacles including mud pits, climbing walls and hurdles. Each year also includes a team costume contest. This year the team really brought it! The costume theme was “The Washing Dead,” and each Bramble Berry racer dressed up in full zombie makeup and attire (made, naturally, from Bramble Berry products like zinc oxide, Labcolors, titanium dioxide and charcoal) .Ā Extreme winds cut the race short (literally, the race was evacuated due to high winds that knocked down trees). Luckily the entire Bramble Berry team got to run before the event was cancelled. Check out photos from the 2013 Muds to Suds event here.

Below, Katy shows off her awesome zombie makeup complete with blood and scars. I love the commitment that the whole team demonstrated with their costumes! If the even had not been cut short, they would have won the costume contest hands down. =)

Below, (left to right) Joe, Jorge, Rachel and George start the race off! It was so funny to watch the team of Washing Dead zombies run among the non-zombie racers. At times, it looked like a zombie movie in the making.

While it was extremely windy, the day was bright and sunny. The race took part at a beautiful park in Ferndale, which is located north of Bellingham. A big thanks to Ben in the warehouse for this beautiful photo!

Many of the obstacles included pits of mud and cold water. Below, Emily, Nikki and Bentli make their way through one of the ice-cold mud pits. In the photo far below, Carla runs through the pit wearing her awesome zombie bride costume.

IMG_1875IMG_7043 Ben, who works in the warehouse, took this stunning photo of Carla making her way through the race. We loved the way this photo looked so much that we printed and framed the photo as a present to Carla. She worked so hard to coordinate the Bramble Berry team for this event, and came up with the awesome zombie costume idea. Thanks for all you do Carla!

Below, George, who is an amazing leader inĀ our warehouse team, leaps over the obstacles with ease. Go George go! Ed, our fork-lift driverĀ extraordinaire, crawls through the mud to make his way through the 5K course.

IMG_7139IMG_1898Above, George shows off his amazing jumping skills as he leaps over the obstacles. George was the first person in the Bramble Berry team to cross the finish line, and it’s easy to see why! Below, Lindsey and Bentli show their team spirit as they make their way through the bubbly finish line.

IMG_2020IMG_1990Ryan, who works in production, runs through the bubbles in order to ring the finish line bell. His once white lab coat was transformed during the muddy race. Below, Joe leaps up to ring the finish line bell.

IMG_7107Below, the whole team poses for a zombie photo, and a more happy photo. =) Despite the event getting canceled early, it was a super fun year for Muds to Suds! Thanks to everybody who participated, and a big thanks to Carla for putting the team together!
