While Castile soap is commonly used as a term to denote 100% Olive Oil Soap from the Castile Region in Italy, in the past decade, this term has been weakened in common lexicon to mean soap with a high % of olive oil or 100% vegetable oil soap coming from a region in Italy. Without knowing the ingredients, you cannot be certain that a soap is 100% Olive Oil if it is called 'Castile' because there is no 'policing' organization (like there is for wine from the Napa Valley or Champagne from the special region of Champagne).

I have a question for you: I had 2customers in one day ask me what Castile Soap is. I told them that it is a soap made of all Olive Oil or a large % of Olive Oil…my research tells me a few differnt things…can you answer this for me?

Very cool. I love the scalloped rectangle mold and the packaging is beautiful. Very attractive. I love that the new soap bases are going to be more on the natural side.
