If only that were true about my day job! 🙂 I’m working on it though – I promise!

Hi Katie –
That’s great that you’ll be helping out with a creative outlet with the women’s shelter.
I would recomend getting two large melters (turkey roasters with two different settings or a double boiler in worst case) and two ladles. Use these to spoon out soap into individual cups for mixing. It saves on so much time with the microwave.
Program your microwave for 30 minutes so you just have to hit “Start” for a few seconds when people accidentally let their soap harden up.
Only have seven or eight fragrances. Too much choice is confusing to newbies.
Depending on how many people there are, you might want some very easy to follow directions to lay out on tables so you don’t have to run and run an run between tables. It can be a fun dance when there’s lots of new people =)
Have fun with it. And remember, you can never make a bad melt and pour soap so everyone will be thrilled with their creations.

Hi Anne-Marie, I wish I could’ve gone to your class, it’s sounded like so much fun! I want to put together a melt-n-pour class for a local women’s shelter, any tips or ideas?? I’m just in the beginning planning stages. Thanks, Katie
