I normally love to make Christmas cards to send out to family friends and especially relish the updates that Christmas mail brings. Time is even more precious this year and so our card design isn’t very complicated at all. We’ll be lucky to get these written and postmarked by Christmas!
Hubby and I had fun making these card precisely because they weren’t complicated. We just had to cut, glue and wait. I normal rubber stamp our holiday cards but didn’t have the bandwidth (time is tight) to do it this year. I hope our family doesn’t mind, notice or care.
Now comes the 2nd part – writing to our friends and family to celebrate the season and wish them a fabulous 2008!

Michelle – Any chance I can get photos of your fabulous jelly rolls? Or maybe can I just trade/buy a few so I can take photos for the blog? I would LOVE to see them.

Aw, you guys are sweet AND you make me feel so much better about the whole “postmarked late or not at all” thing. =)
Joanna, I love the idea of using your kids art for cards. That’s inspired – and looks handmade without as much work!

Michelle, I thought that the jelly rolls were going to be out of reach this year…I didn’t even think of using a disposable tray and parchment paper!
Now, I hope I can get a batch done this evening. The office Christmas party is tomorrow and I did snowflake soaps for everyone, but I’d like to give the management team something a little different.

I doubt that any one is going “mind, notice, or care” that the cards aren’t rubber stamped… those are lovely!!

I love them! Once again I put alot of thought into Christmas cards this year (well sort of alot) but no action. They kind of keep getting put on the back burner. So noone will get cards from our family…once again. 🙁

Those are awesome cards! My second favorite hobby is stamping. I usually put hours into my Christmas cards but just couldn’t get my act together this year. I was too busy making soap = )

These are great! Every year I promise myself to make handcrafted cards, but again it will have to wait until next year. So this (again) motives me.
Giving & receiving a handmade card is a special gift in itself.

I am using my children’s art cards this year. Their school had their special art project sent in to a company to make cards and envelopes. Very convenient. So it’s a copy of handmade. Okay with me. Especially this year, with too much going on. Like you, they will be lucky to get them before the New Year!

those are too cute. I have not done cards for awhile. Bad me.
I am making the jelly rolls now. I could not find a silicon pan (of course they are everywhere when you do not need them) so bought some disposable tins and lined them with parchment paper. They did pop out as they are thin. I made red and clear and am now making dark green and white. I am using a fragrance I made up for a perfume swap. I had used all fo’s that seized in cp soap so this is perfect!
Thanks,
