Pretty soon Jamisen will find out what it’s like to be better than a superhero! We’re expecting a second little Bramble Bump who is due to arrive in May. We are over-the-moon excited. For those of you doing the math, that means the siblings will be 25 months apart (almost to the day!). This pregnancy has been surprisingly easy. I haven’t been sick that much and other than the normal, first-trimester-tireds and the expanding waistline, it’s been a way easier than pregnancy compared to the first. Soon, our little family of 3 will become a family of 4. We can hardly wait.

    1. We were SO happy when we found out – and my folks were up so we were able to share with them right as it happened and that made it even better!

  25. Congratulations! I have two boys and a girl, the boys are 22 months apart and they are the best of buddies. They will definately give you the exercise but it is much fun!

  32. Congratulations to you and your family Anne-Marie. My daughter and son are 26 months apart and I love it. They play great together, my oldest is almost 5. Having two in diapers isn’t too bad though. Plus it is all worth it, right?! And another plus in a May baby, although I am a late May baby (Gemini) 🙂

  51. Congrats, AM! You sent congrats my way when I posted my news over @ my blog that I was expecting, and turns out you are expecting the same month! Exciting!

    Our first two were 13 months apart, this one will be 33 months – I am super excited and hope it’s MUCH easier than the first two were. Maybe I’ll have helpers?!

    1. Ah, yes, you’ll have helpers! That will be so great for you. My girlfriend just had her third and her oldest are big helpers. She also said they older two conspire to outnumber and trick the parents so there’s that little nugget of wisdom for you too …

  64. So happy for you. We just found out that our dtr will be having another as well. She should be due in July so it will be great watching yours and hers. Looking forward to updates and eager to hear if it is a girl or a boy.

    1. Oh fun! You’re just a little behind us so I’ll be thinking of you as we hit our milestones. We find out at the end of December what we’re having and I have a really elaborate idea for telling our folks what we’re having involving bath fizzies =)

    If you’re worried about diapers, try Diaper Free Before Three! I really liked her book, and it helped quite a bit. My daughter was done with diapers shortly after her second birthday.

    Very Exciting times! I have babies, well they’re 15, 10, 8, 4, and my 9 month old. All different pregnancies but all blessings! I would love to do it again. =)

    1. Wow! You are a brave woman! Such a wide age range but it’s good to hear that you’d do it again. We are very excited for baby number 2.

  75. So excited for you and your family! Big congratulations:-) My two are 27 months apart and it worked out well. Close enough to play together and not so close that you have 2 in diapers for very long (if at all!)

    1. We were going to potty train Jamisen around 2 years (assuming he was ready) but his doctor suggested waiting. Apparently, the new baby wearing diapers might set him back a bit so we’ll wait for a couple months after the new baby is born. But then, we’ll be able to say things like ‘Babies wear your diapers and you’re a big brother so you don’t want to wear a diaper, right?” =)

      1. Maybe I was just very lucky! My first child (a girl) was very motivated to potty train. She just decided she didn’t want to wear diapers anymore one day and that was pretty much it. Pullups at night for a little while, but just in case. Boys are usually a little slower I think (mine was) I think it’s better to wait until they are at least interested in the potty. No sense rushing them for sure:-)

My two boys are exactly 20 months apart to the day…I won’t lie and say it’s easy, but it’s definitely worth it in having them grow up together. And to have a May baby, well that is just a wonderful month, not that I’m biased or anything myself since my youngest son, my husband, and myself are all May babies too!

      1. I had two in diapers and it was no problem. I think it was Easier because I never got used to not needing the diaper bag. Mine are 18 months apart and pretty much potty trained at the same time. Congratulations. Have FUN!
