The Manor Hall Soap Blog has an informative article on why Shea Butter is great in bodycare products. Read it here. The Manor has unrefined shea butter for $8.35 for 2 oz. Bramble Berry’s refined shea butter can be found here for 16 oz. for $6.90.

I am glad that I came across Susan’s blog because it introduced me to her company – the Manor Hall Soap Company.

Manor Hall has gorgeous clean soap photos on their site as well. Susan has a wonderful marketing sensibility with a fun contest where customers take photographs of Manor Hall soap around the world. The soap has been all over! Click here to see all the photos. My favorite is definitely the New York bar.

Every order gets something free and Manor Hall interacts with their customers with a What’s New and a What’s Happening page, updated frequently. This is one company that is taking advantage of all the mediums that the internet has to offer for building a loyal community of customers.

  1. Hi

May I know is there a difference in using refined or unrefined shea butter to make soaps?

I heard that we can only use unrefined shea butter to make soaps but cannot use them to make lotions and creams.

Hopefully I get a reply. Your videos are superb!

    1. You can use either one in cold process soap making. Unrefined shea butter (generally speaking) has a shorter shelf life than the refined. So using unrefined shea butter in lotions and creams is still just fine. The end product will just have a shorter shelf life.

  2. Susan, you should be very proud of the Around the World page. You’re really harnessing the internet to develop an active community of customers. It’s very impressive.

  3. This was a lovely surprise when I came across it. Thank you for the wonderful words, Anne-Marie.

Steph, the Around the World page is a lot of fun. I can’t get enough of seeing my little chappies in all those different places. 😀

  4. The soap around the world pics are very interesting and probably were a lot of fun to do.

  5. She truly makes one of the most professional bar of soap I have reviewed. Uber bubbles, sensitive for my skin, love the scents…..

    Love her!!
