I had a great weekend with family and friends. It was chock full of activity from Friday night (movies – Red) to a full dinner party Saturday to dinner with friends on Sunday night. Here are some photos from our Saturday night dinner party (my Dad is taking the first photo which is why he’s not in it!). It was a vegetarian feast with lasagna, delicious tofu noodle casserole, salad, garlic-lemon warm kale and Worthington ‘fauxloaf‘.

On the right, I’m seated by my beautiful Mom and my very talented artist-friend Lisa McShane. And, you might recognize Erik, the Otion store manager and my brother and my sweet husband seated across from him. My friends Heather (from my business Mastermind group), Sylvie and Jennie also joined us for a full evening.  We played Cranium and had an extremely spirited game going on until the power in Bellingham went out, leaving us all to assert that we were sure our own team would have won, had it not been for that dang power outage.

And with the patriarch firmly at the head of the table! =)
Long time blog readers will remember when I got  Chris (my husband, AKA “Mr. Wonderful”) a scooter for his birthday. Well, my brother has been looking for a more eco-friendly way to get between Otion, the Bramble Berry warehouse and the mold manufacturing warehouse. He got his wish when a pristine “Buddy” scooter, just like Mr. Wonderful’s came up for auction. He got it for a bargain! And now, the two brother-in-laws can be true Buddy Buddies, tooling down the road together. They are quite adorable on their little scooters.
I hope you had a great weekend. I’m going to blog the Cheddar Bacon Biscuit recipe tomorrow. It turned out good … but a little salty so I’m going to modify the recipe for you.

  1. Dad here,

Glad the Soap Queen recalls the hours her father spent over the stove making the perfect béarnaise sauce to compliment the Worthington Dinner Roast…….well sort of. Both Knorr and McCormick make wonderful kits – to which one adds enough butter to ensure 2 or 3 cardiologist colleagues their children’s education. But, hey, its only once or twice a year. By the way, Worthington, Loma Linda Foods, and Morning Star are now all owned by Kellogg’s.

  2. I’m working on it right now! My husband is driving us back from (separate, different!) meetings in Seattle that we cleverly aligned our schedules for and I’m working in the passenger seat. It works well! =) (For me at least!)

  3. Ha! I grew up on Worthington and it’s a diet staple to this day. My parents raised my brother and I as vegetarians, while being more flexitarians themselves. =) My Dad has a great gravy recipe he makes for us all the time. I think it’s from a mix … I’ll ask him and report back.

  4. Disney World! Fun! I know that’s in my future with a little one on the way =) I hear that it’s absolutely amazing from an experience standpoint and a business standpoint.

Have you planned BananaGrams yet? We LOVE it. Obsessed with it would be a better word …

  5. Sounds like a great weekend (and a great dinner)! I spent the weekend with my family in Disney World recently and we had a blast. We like to play games, too, and we managed to get a game of Trivial Pursuit in during our get-together. Cranium sounds like fun, too! And congrats to Erik on finding his new scooter! 🙂

  6. Wow, someone who knows what Worthington foods are. Impressive and scary.

You have a wonderful looking family and looking forward to the recipe. If you have a good vegetarian gravy recipe please share.

  7. When are you going to post the recipe for the Cranberry Fig soap? I got the email showing all of us how cute it is, ordered the supplies and still no recipe. I’m kind of banking on getting it since you said you would post it. Although I’ve done soap in the past and have a general idea how its to be done, I would still appreciate the recipe. Please post it ASAP! Thanks.

  8. good analyze to each point in this article and explain with good example. Give more pictures add in the gallery in future.

  9. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! Can’t wait to read that biscuit recipe.

  10. It does rain frequently but it’s usually just a depressing drizzle as opposed to a deluge of rain so they get through it. It does get awfully cold on the cute little moped though. =)
