Blue is a beautiful option for soap, and there are so many colorants to choose from. I especially love to swirl blue soap – it creates such clean and dramatic swirls! In the Crisp Cotton Swirl Cold Process Soap, I kept the swirl simple with Ultramarine Blue Pigment and Titanium Dioxide. The Blue Rain Drop Swirl Cold Process is made using the drop swirl technique and also includes a pop of yellow for contrast. The Mermaid Tail Cold Process Soap uses several shades of blue soap to create the look of mermaid scales, along with an in-the-pot swirl for the base.

Speaking of mermaids, the Mermaid Shell Melt & Pour Tutorial shows you how to create sparkly seashell soap. They are perfect for bringing out your inner mermaid! If you prefer more menacing aquatic inspiration, the Shark Attack Melt & Pour Soap DIY contains shark toys in the soap. Ocean-inspired soap not your thing? The Buttercup Melt & Pour Soap Tutorial pairs blue soap with yellow flower embeds.

Blue is a great color for “fresh” scents. In the Fresh Rain Sugar Scrub video on Soap Queen TV, the blue color comes from Ocean Blue Jojoba Beads. Sierra Sky Jojoba Beads give a deep blue color to the Scrubby Body Wash DIY.  You can also use LabColors to color scrubs. The Shimmering Sea Salt Scrub Recipe contains Blue Mix LabColor and Emerald LabColor for a light aqua hue. We have found mixing the LabColor with the salts helps the color mix into oil-based scrubs. For bath fizzies, La Bomb colorants are the way to go. They are dispersed in glycerin so they don’t set off the fizzy reaction early. In the Hidden Color Bath Fizzies, a drop of Teal La Bomb is placed in the center. Once you drop the fizzy into the tub, it reveals the hidden blue color inside!

Mystic Mermaid Eye Shadow + Application Tutorial

Learn how to create your own mermaid inspired eyeshadows!
Basic eye shadow colors, like brown and gray, are great for everyday use. But every now and then, it’s nice to switch it up and try out new colors. This Mystic Mermaid Eye Shadow adds bold color and a subtle shimmer to your eyelids. They’re a perfect way to add some variety to your everyday look, or to create a glam look for a night out. This tutorial shows you how to create four mermaid inspired eye shadow tones. Scroll to the bottom for a demonstration on how to apply these shades!

Learn how to create your own mermaid inspired eyeshadows!The white eye shadow has a bit of shimmer from Super Pearly White Mica, which adds interest to your base color. It also works as a highlighting shade. The purple, blue and teal colors are great for shadows and contouring. You can also switch up the colors for a unique look each time. Dipping your makeup brush in a little water intensifies the color, giving you more color options.
