Who’s ready for a challenge? You are? Then you’ve come to the right place.  The Soap Queen Team is hosting our first ever soaping challenge and we couldn’t be more excited (yes, that’s me squealing in the background)!

Every other week we will have a different theme and you will have the chance to have your creation featured in a blog post. And a big thank you to Amy Warden at Great Cakes Soapworks for inspiring our challenge (we read her blog daily).

Layered Soap Cookie, Karma Soap, Romantic Lavender Wedding Soap.

Green Machine SoapBirthday Cake Loaf, Candy Corn Soap

Gradated Layer Soap, Cute as a Button Soaps, Layers Made Easy

Mission (if you choose to accept it)

  • Create a unique soap that follows the theme for the challenge of the week. This week is all about the layers.
  • Post your pictures of your layered melt and pour soap to Bramble Berry’s Facebook page during the entry period (June 11th-June 25th).
  • Your entry must have the hashtag of the week in order to be entered into the contest. This week, your picture must have the hashtag “#Layers“.
  • At the end of the two weeks, Team Bramble Berry will pick our favorite soaps. The winners of the challenge will be featured in their very own Soap Queen Blog post. You have until Monday, June 25th to post your Melt and Pour #Layers.
  • You can submit up to three different pictures.
Ready! Set! Go!

  1. Hello there thank you for all your tutorials and challenges.

In all my layered soaps i cant get the layers to stick to one another, if to hot they melt into each other.
    what do i do ??
    Thank you !!

    1. Hi George!

When layers aren’t sticking together it could be because the soap is at too low of a temperature or the layers haven’t been spritzed with enough rubbing alcohol. Try spraying 91% rubbing alcohol liberally between your layers. =)

  2. How exciting! I don’t know if I’ll be able to participate this time – my girls birthday party is next weekend so I’ll be switching gears to make cakes. But I’m looking forward to your future challenges!

  3. So I can use something I made in the past? And when does the contest end? Thanks so much cannot wait to post some of my attempts is layering melt and pour. Lol.

    1. Absolutely Dawn! We would love to see what you have, whether you’ve made it in the past or make it this week. Just make sure you upload it to our Facebook page with the hashtag #layers so that we know you are entering this challenge! Happy Soaping!

  4. It’s only about melt and pour soap? I would like to take part but I am more into cold process soap . Thanks for letting me know.

  5. Have fun everyone! I’d join in but just finished an 11 week challenge with Amy of GreatCakesSoapworks. No time right now as it is market season, but loads of ideas and fun right here! Have a grand time.

    1. We’d love to see a layered M&P soap that you’ve made this for this week’s challenge, but it can be one you’ve made in the past. Just make sure you upload it with the hashtag #layers! 😉
