It’s coming up on the end of the year (I can hardly believe it!) and that means it is our very last #Make it Monday challenge of 2012. We’ve seen some pretty incredible projects over the last six months and can’t wait to see what you have in store for us for this challenge! Are you ready for it?
Mission (if you choose to accept it)
- Create a unique product that follows the theme for the challenge of the week. This week is all Christmas themed bath and body products. Anything from melt & pour and cold process soaps, bath bombs, lotions, and more!
- Post your pictures of your cute and creative Christmas projects to Bramble Berry’s Facebook page during the entry period (December 3rd – December 17th).
- Your entry must have the hashtag of the week in order to be entered into the contest. This week, your picture must have the hashtag #Christmas Schwag
- At the end of the entry period, Team Bramble Berry will pick our favorite entries. The winners of the challenge will be featured on the Soap Queen Blog. You have until Monday, December 17th to post photos of your #Christmas Schwag. Please submit your photos by 12 pm (pacific standard time).
- You can submit up to three different pictures!

See you in January and have a happy holiday season!
On a personal note, my sweet husband Chris has applied to be part of the CNN Triathlon Team for this upcoming year. You can watch his entry video and read his essay HERE. How he’ll fit in training for an Ironman + a new baby + his business + our energetic toddler is anyone’s guess but if there’s anyone that can do it, it’s him! =)
Jamisen is already trying to show him how the bike portion of the race is done:
We’d love to feature your soap on the Teach Soap website! You can send your tutorial with pictures to [email protected] and if you project is chosen you will receive a $10 gift certificate to Bramble Berry, as well as having your recipe (with full credit) on Teach Soap. For more information on the this ongoing contest, check out the Teach Soap Contest Update blog post and take a look at our already featured recipes here: Soothing Avocado Foot Balm, Peach Pie Soap, Rose Garden Bath Tea & Refreshing Tangerine Melt and Pour Soap.

I wish your husband the very best with making the CNN team. Last year I had the opportunity to race at the Ironman World Championship in Kona, HI on a lottery slot that I received as part of the medical volunteer team. I had never done a full triathlon solo and certainly never an Ironman. I finished, it took me 16:52:54, but I completed the race and earned my Ironman title. Since then my husband has completed an Ironman, my 14 and 15 year old kids have finished their first half marathons and are planning 2 more this spring. If Chris needs encouragement, advise or training buddies, just let us know.

Maybe this is a stupid question but how do you do a hashtag on Facebook? I thought they were only for Twitter or something???
Becky with Bramble Berry says
Hi Chrissy!
Not a stupid question at all! We use the #hashtag on Facebook so we know which photos are being entered into the challenge as we do receive many pictures a week! It’s just an easy way for us to keep track of it all. 🙂

I hope that I posted the pictures correctly on the BB Facebook Page! I made the soap cupcakes (using Erin’s recipe) for a benefit for a Nutcracker production.

I saw those! They were absolutely lovely. Thanks for entering our #Christmas Schwag challenge. 🙂

Thank you for this compilation of tutorials. These tips will come in handy for holiday gifts, especially since I am getting more serious into candle-making lately. Best of luck to your husband with his Ironman training and CNN application. My husband (also named Chris) just finished his first full triathlon at a little over 13 hours and is already planning his next one (he promised to skip a year though). He had to devote a lot of time to training but I was very very proud of him, and most importantly he was very happy with himself. Thanks again for the videos!

Yay, I’m so glad that there is going to be a Christmas-themed Make It Monday! I have one more soap I need to photograph once I get home, and then I’ll have three photos to submit. And best of luck to Chris with his triathlon application – I hope he’s chosen for the team!

We can’t wait to see your products, Jenny! Happy Soaping. 🙂

I would love to participate in this fun contest! I have just recently gotten into making bath and body items at home so am still in the learning process. For this contest we can make anything “from melt & pour and cold process soaps, bath bombs, lotions, and more,” so I was wondering if it is possible to make a cold process soap for this contest within the time constraint of December 3rd – December 17th?
Becky with Bramble Berry says
Hi Megan! We’d love for you to participate in our Make it Monday contest, and you can submit any of your bath and body products, even your cold process soap (it doesn’t have to be cured, just photographed)!
