On this scrubby episode of Soap Queen TV I’m going to teach you how to make two different types of exfoliating melt and pour soaps. I used our shredded loofah in a loaf mold and an actual loofah sponge in our popular 12 bar silicone mold. After we shot this episode I gave away some of the loofah sponge soaps to friends and family. It was such a hit they’ve already requested more! I know you’ll love it too!

  1. I just made this recipe. EVERYONE loved it. I had a bar sitting on my end table by my sofa and as I was working on my laptop all I could do was smell it and it was 4 feet from me!!! Wonderful aroma. My oldest daughter obviously loved it and it was a big hit with her friends. Such an easy easy recipe. This has my wheels turning. Can you suggest some other fragrance combos that would work well in this recipe. And would you think that it would work with three fragrances? Just a thought.

    1. Isn’t the Lemon and Blackberry Sage such a delightful blend? I’m so glad that everyone in your house just loves it! For this particular recipe, you can really use almost any fragrance that doesn’t discolor. But, if you want to loofa to stand out, I’d try a water white fragrance like:

      Apricot Freesia: https://www.brambleberry.com/Apricot-Freesia-Fragrance-Oil-P3932.aspx

      Fresh Snow: https://www.brambleberry.com/Fresh-Snow-Fragrance-Oil-P3655.aspx

      Riceflower and Shea: https://www.brambleberry.com/Rice-Flower-Shea-Type-Cybilla-Fo-P3397.aspx

      Watermelon: https://www.brambleberry.com/Watermelon-Fragrance-Oil-P3895.aspx

      White Ginger and Amber: https://www.brambleberry.com/White-Ginger-Amber-Cybilla-Fragrance-Oil-P3409.aspx

      Yuzu: https://www.brambleberry.com/Yuzu-Cybilla-Fragrance-Oil-P3412.aspx

      Coconut Cybilla: https://www.brambleberry.com/Coconut-Cybilla-Fragrance-Oil-P3366.aspx

I think that a blend of Watermelon and Coconut or even Pearberry and Coconut would also go really well with each other and you could totally do a three-fragrance blend. Feel free to experiment and have fun with this tutorial. I hope this helps! =)

  2. Anne Marie, I made this soap. It turned out great, especially using the silicone mold. Just one question though, after soaking the mold with baking soda, numerous times, it still had a slight smell of the fragrance oil I used..my question is, if I were to use again with another fragrance, will the different fragrances blend together causing the final soap to smell odd?

  3. Anne Marie, you are a great teacher. And the loofah and the other videos are great. Thanks for sharing.

  4. I love this episode! I am having all kinds of ideas for fragrance/color combos. The possibilities are endless. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
