This is the final day of experimenting with cream soap. Full recipes for all three experiments will be posted tomorrow.
The photo below is with the Day One experiment – the handmade lotion additive. It turned into a nice, fluffy bar. It is marshmallow like in its consistency and feels squishable.
Here is Day Two with Sweet Almond Oil. The clear soap shows through nicely as the bubbles (whipped in during the blending) rise to the surface. Even with the bubbles rising, there is no resulting oily slick.
Today we did commercial, store bought lotion in opaque soap. We did a 10% and a 25% addition rate. It looked very nice and creamy once it was fully blended.
The cream stayed mixed in very well but created a different final consistency. It is more smooth and even than the handmade lotion batch. Also, the commercial cream batch is heavier and more dense.
Check back tomorrow for the recipe of all the batches and also, our pick for the best soap of the six!
